Dakota’s POV

The afternoon passed by easily, Levi’s warm hand cradling mine and my head rested against his shoulder. The sun warmed out skin nicely as it sunk lower towards the ground. The beach was empty so Levi didn’t have anything else do except to wait for his shift to end. We exchanged a few words occasionally but otherwise we remained quiet and enjoyed each others presence. The fact alone that Levi felt the same the way about me as i felt about him caused butterflies to erupt in my stomach and my breathing to get just a bit shorter than usual.

Around six I eventually faced the fact that i had to go home. The day had been relaxing and a greatly needed escape from the prominent silence that filled the house. Although school had been occupying a lot of my time, there were still stretches of time where i sat by myself at home, and inevitably my thoughts would drift to sadder times.

I straightened in my chair and pushed my hair back.

Levi glanced at me questioningly.

“I’ve got to get home” i stated grumpily.

He frowned slightly before nodding his head.

“Do you want me to drive you?”

“It’s fine. You probably still have to stay here”

He shook his head. “My shift ended ten minutes ago. It’s no hassle.”

A small smile tugged at my lips. “Okay”

We packed up our things together and made our way down the beach and back again, like Levi always did, before walking up to his car.

The ride home was short and he pulled up in front of the house not five minutes later. For a change, the lights in the kitchen and living room were alight, indicating that my parents were home.

I opened the car door and got my things from the trunk when Levi came around the car and walked to the door.

We walked much slower than necessary, both not wanting the day to end just yet. I fumbled with the bag, searching for my keys, too aware of Levi’s close proximity. When i felt him step even closer to me, and my breathing seemed to fail me, i dropped the bag and wrapped my arms around his shoulder, crashing my lips to his. He grabbed my waist and held me tightly against him, his strong arms encasing my small body in a safe haven. I groaned against his lips when i felt him drag his hand through my hair and down my back, hooking his fingers in my belt loops.
His lips strayed from my own and instead left a searing trail of kisses along my jaw and down my neck towards my collar bone. He backed me up further, until my back was firmly lodged against the door, his thigh pressed between my legs. He let out a soft grumbling sound when i accidentally bit down slightly on his bottom lip.

“If you don’t want me packing you into my car and driving you to somewhere a lot more private you’ve got to stop this now” he groaned into my neck as I ran my fingers through his hair.

He rested his elbow beside my head and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath- trying to control himself.

I dipped my head until it was resting against his chest and sighed.

“I’d willingly get into your car, but i don’t think my parents would be so fond of the idea” i grumbled as i fisted his shirt. My skin was hot where he trailed his fingers lazily across it, and the clenching in my stomach urged me on to kiss him again. A whole different side of me was showing suddenly. I had never craved to be kissed or held by boy, yet suddenly as he stood in front of me with his arms tightly around me as if i were the most precious thing in the world to him- i didn’t want him to ever stop kissing me. And i definitely didn’t want him to leave now.
