The silence stretched before he heaved a sigh and smiled at me.
"Someone far older than even your father. I was a child for more years than Bart has been turned, I decided that I should probably grow some when your father found me. The family that took me in lived in the village Lycian destroyed but they were not my blood."
"Does my father know?"
He smirked and shook his head
"Not everything. I'm sure he has some suspicions, but he has never tasted my blood so he hasn't caught onto the full power I have."
Another few moments of silence and then he continued.
"I don't remember if I ever had parents, I don't remember where I was born. The earliest memory I have is of wandering the streets. Every village I went to there was at least one family that would take me in. None of them ever spoke about how I never grew, some believed me to a child Vampyr. I'm not sure exactly how long I was wondering when I came upon Lycian's village outside of his castle. The family that took me in was kind but the mother was wary. Not that she felt something was wrong, no, she was a priestess for the Lycan's and she believed I was special. Her husband was a blacksmith who worked with Lycian, he is the one that warned us of the blood path that Lycian was on we he returned from a trip. There was talk of his hybrid son stalking him trying to find his mother and him. I met Lycian that day. He came in half feral and killed the father immediately, screaming that his weapons were useless. The mother grabbed me and her two kids and hid with us under the floor. Lycian ripped the house apart and when he pulled the kids out the mother put her hand around my mouth to stop me from screaming. I had seen plenty of bloodshed throughout my travels, but what he did to those kids continues to haunt me. He was going to come back for us but then he heard his son. She took me to the temple and told me to stay and to not leave until someone came for me. I remember crying for the first time ever, the pain in my heart weighted me down like stone. That's when your father found me. The mother was slaughtered by Lycian along with all the rest of the pack, the village. I knew your father sensed something in me so he took me with him. The other children that survived he sent with different people but he kept me. After a few years when he realized I wasn't aging  I decided it was time to grow up. So slowly I came to look like this and decided this would be an okay fit."
I smiled at him and scooted closer to him to touch his chest.
"It definitely suits you......so you have no idea who you are?"
"I do"
We both jumped at the resonance of my fathers deep voice. Lucas was breathing heavy his arm snaked around my waist pulling me closer.
"I've known for a very long time, it was the priestess that told me. She was aware of where you came, who you are. Both of you come to my study and I'll fill you in on what I know."
He turned and left without waiting for an answer and I could feel the tension in Lucas' muscles. I worked myself around until I was straddling him and his head laid against my chest. I pulled him closer tucking his head in my neck above the mark he gave me and traced designs on his broad back with my fingers. Neither of us spoke or moved and we stayed there just like that until he began to relax.
"I want to know."
His voice sounded childlike and my heart opened to him that much more. I kissed his temple and brought him to look into my face. What I saw crushed me. He was still a child deep down inside, a wandering child with no family or home, who has seen and done so much. I kissed him gently sending my powers out to wash over him, letting him know that he is no longer alone, I am here and if he wants to know then I will be by his side no matter what.
"I am yours Lucas, mind body and soul. I will always be here."
He deepened our kiss and then held my face back to look into my eyes. His smile made my body heat and my heart melt.
"Let's go see what horrible past I lurked from."
I roll my eyes and slap his arm as we get up and get dressed.
Once in his study my father stared at Lucas with what looked like pride, a fatherly type. He may have found Lucas as an immortal child but he is the one that helped him become the man he is today. He poured drinks for all of us and sat in his chair facing us.
"Let's see, where to begin.....
When I came to your village I was met by the priestess. She was covered in blood her hand stuffed into a knife wound on her side, but she didn't take heed of that. She recognized who I was and grabbed onto me.
"You must get him away, he can not be harmed!"
"Who?"
She smiled and cried at the same time
"The boy, he is in the temple hidden from HIM. Find him and my books. He is special, you must read what has been written about his family, you will know when it is right to tell him."
"What's his name?"
She smiled and put a bloody hand on my cheek
"That is for you to decide when you find him, only then will his name be revealed. Now hurry he needs you."
"Come let me help you...."
"NO!! I have to distract Lycian so the children can get away, now go!"
"She left me standing there dumbfounded and after a few moments I made my way to the temple. You were hiding in a niche in the alter, I could feel you, your calm and hurt. You were crying and when I held my hand out to you, you just looked at me. Then a whisper of your name in my ear. "Lucas" So I called your name and your head perked up and you came with me. As I made my way to collect the books you fell asleep. I brought you back to my camp and let everyone know that you are under my care, you are my ward. It was months before I was able to read the books and when I did everything I had come to believe was truth was in fact not. You see, Lilith and Lycian were not the first of their kinds. We once roamed in smaller packs and covens, that's all there was. No humans just us. It doesn't say how we got here, only that the changes came suddenly but slowly. After generations we had Lycan's and Vampyr, and we were all friends. Little by little people broke off from the groups and lost their ways. What were once Lycan's became wolves, forgetting their immortality. Vampyr left to become feral and hunted by Lycan and Vampyr alike. Soon there were those that renounced what they were and after generations of breeding became humans. Your family Lucas comes from a direct line to the first Lycan. Somehow your village was attacked and only you survived. "The wandering prince", "The Lycan savior", so many names. The reason you are so powerful is because you come from the first of the "supernatural" forces this planet made. Your blood is a pure strain."
Silence filled the room and I inhaled my drink. I sat my glass down and looked at Lucas. His face was slightly pale and his hand slightly shook. If you didn't know what to look for it would seem like he had heard nothing at all.
"Why didn't you tell me sooner?"
My father smiled at Lucas
"Because the priestess told me I would know when the right time was, when you would be ready to hear the truth and believe me. Also I have enjoyed being a father figure to you and I didn't want to trouble you unless you were truly ready to know that you are far older and stronger than any living thing on this planet."
