Painful Reminder

It's been five days, five long miserable days of Lycian screaming to be let out, and of Lucas and I furthering our bond, and testing our powers. We found out shortly after Savilla came, that I could "siphon" off of his aura and powers increasing mine and vice versa. My father finally got tired of dear old grand dads screaming so he went to him this morning. He took Lucas, Tristan, and Bart with him, which left me alone to finally talk with Savilla. I found her in her small room in the company of my sister, actually grandmother, since Cammi's eyes were purple. They both smiled as I walked through the door after knocking, Cammi patting the bed next to her. For several minutes I listened to the topic they were speaking about before I rudely interrupted.

"Savilla tell me about the 7 original clans please."

She stared at me with  blue eyes that seemed milky due to the film that has grown over them, she looked much better after a shower and food. She turned slightly to look at Cammi who nodded her head.

"Where our origins came from is still a great debate but there were 7 "clans"
The Draconian or dragons, big burly people with hardened skin.
The Merium or mermaids, were the ones who could breath on land and water.
The Witches, we were the closest to human and it is from us that many humans came from.
The Lycan's who their cast offs lost their immortality and became wolves.
The Fae, tricksters everyone, beautiful but deadly.
The Vampires, who preferred to be night dwellers, cunning and kept the darkness at bay.
And then the Barsheim, they are no longer around, they were few and stayed to themselves, they "bred" themselves into extinction but that's to be expected with incest.
Many of these barely exist here on this plane, they saw how dangerous ignorant humans are so they left, the others stayed and here we are. Everyone has some type of lineage from the 7 clans but only very few can tap into that strength."

Her brows furrowed as she continued

"The original coven held all the magical power at one point, the Lycan's held immortality, the Vampyr held the physical abilities as well as hunting prowess. The Draconian held strength, the Merium held intelligence, the Fae held healing powers. There were very few to each clan, and given time we began to breed amongst each other. The children shared the abilities of each of the parents and soon we became as we are. Those who come from the original bloodlines have greater powers than those that have more mingled blood. As I said before some broke away making up newer species that now inhabit the earth."

Silence was heard along with the crackling from the fireplace in her room. She looked at me, a knowing smile on her face.

"What or whom would you like to know about?"

I chewed my bottom lip, my gaze going from her to Cammi and back again.

"I want to know about Lilith, Lycian, and Lucas."

She gave a small smile and nodded her head as if she knew I would ask for that.

"Very well.  We shall start with Lilith and Lycian. Lilith isn't her true name, she took the name from the ultimate mother. The name she was born with was Akiru, and she was the youngest daughter of the Vampyr clan. They were a very tight knit clan, they had several children and were fierce hunters. They traded with the Lycan clan often, they were much closer to one another than the other clans. When Lilith, or Akiru, turned 16 she met Lycian, an 18 year old Lycan and soon to be Alpha. Lilith always wanted the best, and she would do anything without thought of consequence to get it. When she saw Lycian she fell in love with him, and was just as quick to hate his mate. She wanted him to herself, but when she told her parents about her feelings and asked for their help they refused her. They reminded her that the mate bond is powerful and unless rejected can't not be stopped. This infuriated her to the point where she poisoned Lycians mate, and when he buried her body Akiru was there to bind him to her. She twisted his grieving heart to believe she was the one he was meant for. When word reached her family they shunned her and out of hurt and vengeance she slaughtered the majority of her clan. After that she fled with Lycian and no one heard from them for centuries. Lucas was the last born to the Lycan clan, the last pure bred of any clan. Lilith and Lycian brought discord to all of the clans, trying to find a way to make her immortal. By the time she found the binding spell many humans and wolves were in existence. Her and the Vampyrs received their immortality from a scorned witch, Davina. She bound Lycians immortality to Lilith, but she hated them just as much as everyone else and instead bound the Lycan immortality with the Vampyr."

She stopped and took a drink, and the scenes danced in my head. I could see the anguish and anger, feel the feelings that those long dead felt.

"Davina was my great great grandmother, she was the one who bound all the clans together and broke them apart. Many hated the thought of living forever, the Lycan's had found a way to circumvent their immortality to be able to die peacefully, but this spell stopped that. So many people were angry and war broke out. When the peace returned their were no more clans. Their were covens and packs and humans created their own places. Soon all children were intermingled and many half breeds were born. During that time Lilith and Lycian had your father, and his power was far beyond theirs and every other half breeds. Many didn't survive past 13, when shifts occurred or bloodlust ravaged them, many were seen as demons and put to death. Our heritage seems to be bathed in blood. Your father, Dahlia, was the only half breed to survive, not only to survive but who surpassed the pure bloods. When he was older he spurned his mother and father, he stopped their reign of darkness and put Lycian in the crypt below the castle. He took Liliths head, but little did he know of her powers."

"How, Savilla, how did she get her powers?"

I watched as Cammi took her hand, squeezing it to give her strength. But before Savilla could speak Lucas' deep voice rang through the room.

"She siphons off the magical abilities of witches and pure bloods. That was her gift, she could take what isn't hers. That's how she killed my family, and that's why they made sure that I didn't remember anything."

I was up and at his side immediately, on my toes to cup his face in mine.

"You remember don't you?"

Sadness consumed him so much that I could read it in his eyes. A tear slowly made its way down his cheek as he placed his forehead against mine.

"Poor boy, you went and saw him didn't you? The only other one to hold Prince as a title among your clan. Your sister was to be his Luna, his Queen. He told you didn't he?"

Lucas stared at Savilla, tears slowly falling down to caress his cheeks, he nodded never taking his eyes from her.

"Tell me what happened."

His voice was barely a whisper but we all heard. Savilla sighed heavily and signaled for us to sit.

"I guess my story will have to jump. Lucas your sister was the rightful Luna to Lycian, his mate, the one he was supposed to marry and rule the Lycan's with. Lilith sought her out and found a way to dispose of her. Her body was easy, her spirit not so much, so in order to rid her from Lycan's side Lilith stole her soul. That is how she convinced Lycian that they were meant to be together, he felt the pull to your sisters soul. She is forever trapped in a horrid nightmare named Lilith. And I'm sorry to say but she has gone mad after so long trapped within her ."

Lucas held no more tears but his head remained lowered, his fingers entangled with mine.

"All the times I killed Lilith I was killing a piece of my sisters soul."
