Chapter Three.

Bucky's POV:

"This is my sister." The words left her mouth. The girl started taking off her hat and smiled softly.

"Hey, Natty."

"Natty?" I looked at Nat as she rolled her eyes at my remark.

Natasha seemed confused almost. "What are you doing here? Last I heard you were in Rome."

Chuckling the girl shrugged her shoulders. "I've been everywhere I guess."

Rubbing the back of my neck I stepped between the now reunited sisters. "Look, I hate to break this short but we have hostages we need to help the guys with." I reminded Romanoff.

"You're right, and you're coming with us do you understand?" The sister went to argue back but before she could make a sound Natasha had cut her off. "I don't care, you're coming." And with that, the sister nodded and began the journey following us down the halls.

Getting outside we could see Stark, Sam and Steve all fighting "Bucky, to your left!" Turning I felt my body being tackled by someone. Trying to push them off I felt the body roll as the girl had tackled them off of me.

The fight was not too difficult as Steve and I were the only super soldiers. Once we had all the men down everyone was out of breath trying to think of what to say next, only Stark was the first one to speak. "Okay, this is a face I thought I'd never see again." He pointed at Natasha's sister.

"No kidding, good to see you." Steve smiled pulling her into a hug.

"Yeah, ugh quick question. She had her legs around my neck, I think I should know a name?" I looked at the gang as they started the hostages to the plane.

Natasha snorted and nodded at me. "I think that's fair." Nat turned to the girl who was just the slightest bit shorter than her. "Bucky, this is Novah. Novah, this is Bucky."

Novah looked me up and down. "I know who he is. How could I forget?" I looked at her funny for sure for that comment. Did she know me? I don't think I even met her before. Surely I would remember?

Was she there for the war of Thanos?

Novah's POV:

Time had passed and they had gotten the hostages to the hospital for checkups. I stood in the doorway of the hall listening to the team discuss how the mission went.

Even though I couldn't get my mind off the fact he was here. Bucky. He was famously known as the winter soldier and was even more famously known in Hydra as the winter soldier. Thinking it was good enough time I went to go turn so I could leave like Natasha used to be, I was always busy. "And Novah is going to stay with us as well." Stopping dead in my tracks I turned to face them, I had dark red hair like Nat. "You have some explaining to do." Natasha gestured for me to take a seat.

Not arguing with her I took a seat on the sofa in the compound some of them called home. "What do you want to know?" I said looking up at my older sister. I was 10 years younger than Natasha was. She was currently 33.

She took a seat across from me. "What were you doing there, it was a dangerous move." I could hear her motherly tone starting to come out.

Licking my lips I took a glance at the gang that was looking down at me as my sister sat across from me. I have known some of these guys for years, some were even there for my birthdays which was rare. "I heard about Hydra, I have been following them for a while. It's why I was travelling, I was tasked with hunting them down and trying to bring them down."

"Without anyone?" Steve piped in as he crossed his arms. Steve was like an older brother to me in some strange way, even though he and Nat have been hiding their secrets from the group.

"Yes, without anyone." I looked down at my hands that were still bruised from fighting. "Unlike you, all of you I don't have a team. I was solo, I worked for someone and I know people but I don't work with anyone. I was doing just fine." Apart from me knew arguing was useless with them. "Look, I had gotten through without you guys look at all those men I took out!"

Natasha shook her head. "What happened to you saying you were going to stop this?" and there it was, the overprotective sister she was to me.

"I'm not a child anymore Natasha, you can't speak to me like I am a child." She rolled her eyes at me this time. "What happened to us being a team? Huh, what happened to us being there for one another when times got dark." I glared at Bucky while saying.

She stood up pointing at Bucky. "You leave him alone, he isn't that anymore."

"Oh boy, you as well huh." I scoffed.

"Enough!" Natasha and I looked at Steve. "Look, I see you guys have your differences and that's fine, we get it but fighting is not going to solve anything. Novah, you said you aren't in a team? Congratulations, you're one of us now. Natasha, she is right she isn't a kid but I understand you want to protect her, I get that completely but we need to make sure everyone is on the same page."

My jaw dropped and I shook my head as my breathing grew rapid. "Steve- I can't," I gasped.

"What's happening?" Steve said rushing to my side like the others.

"She's having a panic attack, she hasn't had one in years." Natasha rushed to my knees and held my hands. "Head between your knees, let's go!" Natasha helped me lower my head as my breathing stayed rapid. "Nov, what's wrong why are you triggered?" Natasha's words blurred in my mind as I couldn't focus on them.

I shouldn't have even been here I should have left a while ago. Before they even finished battling. How could I be so stupid?

"I can't be here" I gasped out looking at Bucky, he seemed almost calm unlike the rest of them who were all trying to talk to me at the same time creating a commotion. Looking at him though, it almost seemed calm to me. "I need to go," again through my gasps.

"No, you're staying just breathe."

"She needs you guys to all back off." Bucky's words rung through my ears almost as if he was reading my mind. "She won't speak if you guys are suffocating her." Natasha scooted back and gestured for everyone to follow along with her.

Not long after I could feel the breath returning to my lungs but not once did my eyes leave Bucky and it was almost he had the same idea as he didn't leave mine once either. "I need to leave," I said calmly.

Nat shook her head and rubbed my leg. "Nov, please. I just got you back don't leave." She said, knowing those words would tug at my heart more than anything. "I think we should celebrate. We just got you into the team, we are reunited and I mean it's just special having you back."

"I appreciate it but there's just too much going on, especially with Hydra."

Tony smiled his sarcastic smug smile. "Well, Fury said once the hostages were saved then we start focusing on Hydra. Kid, we are now on a team." As much as I wanted to be happy I knew I couldn't. I was putting all of them in danger.

Standing I let out a sigh. "I'd like to go get some rest, it is very late and I just don't want to waste more energy than I have to."

"Okay, that's fair. Bucky, escort her to the spare room down the hall from your room, will you?" Steve smiled at both of us.

Nodding he led the way out of the room. At first, we were silent with one another and it was comforting for the most part. "They never asked, where did you get those bruises." Bucky pointed to my hands and wrists.

Hiding my hands in my pockets I looked forward. "None of their business" he chuckled at me. "It was a fight."

"Did you win?" he arched a brow looking at me as we stopped outside a door.

Bucky opened the door for me looking down on me. "I hope so," was all I could say.

Shutting the door after thanking Bucky I slid down the door feeling somewhat of defeat. Looking at the bruises that were marked on me I could feel how I got them all over again. The memories of every day having to deal with them felt like hauntings. I could only pray that everything with it was done.
