Chapter 12:

Novah's POV:

The night felt like it went by too quickly meaning the only thing now was the day that I had to spend with Bucky. Going into the kitchen I could see everyone eating, we all had stayed the night at Starks since everyone- who could navigate this area was drunk. "So, are you ready for your day with Barnes?" Stark smiled as he chewed some bacon Pepper had made.

Rolling my eyes I stood behind Thor and my sister. "No, actually- I would rather be home in my bed." only thing is deep down I knew that was a lie.

"Wow, you flatter me," Bucky said walking in with Sam and Steve, Grabbing a coffee Bucky took a chug from it, "listen to me sweetheart, I'd rather be spending my time with Iron-ass than you." his words were cold as he sipped his coffee.

Natasha rolled her eyes. "What the hell is happening with you two? You used to be so close?" Nat said looking between the two of us.

"Nothing," I replied looking at Barnes. "Can we just get this day over?"

Bucky licked his lips nodding, gesturing me to follow I did as he wanted as well as the others who wanted to see us off. "Now, I do have rules." We turned to my sister who was the first one out the door behind us. "Barnes, look I love you like family but if I find out she is hurt in ANY form of way, I will hurt you. Novah, that goes the same for him, one scratch and I will kick your ass." Bucky and I looked at her as she stood up tall. "And she better not come back pregnant, you hear me?"

Laughing we shook our head. "He's not that lucky, Nat."

"I was just going to say the same thing about you."

Bucky got on his motorbike tossing me a helmet. "Get on,"

"Don't you know what to say to the ladies?" Mumbling I got on and held onto him.

Speeding off as soon as I was on and ready he travelled down the dirt roads leading us away from our friends. "Where are you taking us?" I hollered hoping he could hear me over the engine.

"Somewhere only I go." He yelled back for me to hear.

After a good while of driving, he parked us beside a lake. It was a beautiful place from what I could see. It was warm and we could hear birds chirping as there were vines that hung from select trees.

"This is a beautiful place," I turned to Bucky. "It's romantic, almost."

Bucky nodded shoving his hands in his pockets, "this is where I come when I need to escape the real world, nothing here can harm me." Why was he all of a sudden acting soft? "Novah, I know you probably don't want to be here-"

"Yeah." I agreed.

"I saw how you trained with Thor, what made you want to do that?" he looked at me as he stepped forward.

"Just thought it would be best."

He chuckled, "why didn't you just ask me?" was this jealousy?

"Why would I bother asking someone who would just go against me?"

Turning Bucky hit his hand on a tree earning a loud crack from it. "I didn't go against you Nov, it was a mission what choice did I have? Your sister and Steve were the ones to ask me!" His voice was growing sterner as he spoke. "Besides, you forgave them sure quick but forgot about me!"

I could tell he was getting heated from thinking about it, something about it triggered something inside him. Scoffing I clenched my fists shaking my head, "you know, Barnes you are a joke sometimes. You have this way with a woman. From showing them sides, making them believe they are different that you care enough to tell them about yourself yet here we are." I growling beginning to shake.

"You are different, kitty!"

"Don't call me that!" Before I could hold my anger I lounged at him swinging my fists, but Bucky blocked it before I could do anything, stepping back I kept at it as if we were almost training like how Thor and I did. "I am not yours!" I screamed out into the air as I swung at him.

"Novah! Listen to me-"

"No!" I screamed continuing my swing at him, feeling eyes welling up I let out a scream of frustration. "Fight me!" I screamed at Bucky who was still blocking my hits.

Bucky's stern face turned soft as he blocked. "I'm not going to fight you,"

"Fight me!"

"No!" he caught my arm as he shoved me against a tree with my arms above my head, breathing faster we looked one another in the eyes and before I could register what had happened Bucky's lips were on mine. Letting go of my wrists slowly almost as if he thought I was going to strike. Placing my arms around him he deepened the kiss between us before pulling away placing his head on mine. "I will not fight you, Nov, I will never fight you." his blue eyes looked into mine before we pulled away from one another.

Standing there I wasn't sure how to feel the emotions were overwhelming at the moment. "Bucky- I-I'm sorry," saying as I looked down feeling ashamed of how I was feeling and acted.

Feeling a hand underneath my chin I looked up to see Bucky as he looked down at my lips before back at me. "No, I understand you had every right to be mad at me, if anything I am the one who is sorry."

Nodding I smiled softly at him, "so, is this where you take everyone?"

"Only those I find special, you're the only one to ever be here with me." he led me to a tree where he sat us down, wrapping his arm around me. "Novah, do you trust me?"

The question took me off guard. "Yes, I do," I said knowing it was the truth. "Do you trust me?"

"I do."

It felt as if he and I were never apart, we chatted for a while before we decided we both were hungry and wanted some food. Bucky took me to the sushi place he loves in town and ordered some food for us. "So this is the sushi you love." I smiled as he took a sip of his drink.

"Best sushi in town."

Taking a bite I smiled in disbelief, it was really good. "Holy smokes,

"Right, it's the only place I get sushi from now." we sat there for a moment before he spoke again, "Novah, I need to tell you something. That night, before everything went wrong, everything I told you, everything we did- that wasn't fake" he put his chopsticks down. "Seeing how badly I hurt you, it killed me in a way- I never been that upset hurting someone before, and that should say a lot within itself." he did have a point.

Wanting to cheer him up I smiled poking him with my chopstick. "I forgive you," he eased up when those words left my mouth.

We headed back to the compound and stood there, everyone was still out doing their things. We stood in front of Bucky's door where he smiled softly. "I guess today wasn't so bad, huh?" I smiled up at the man standing close to me.

"I guess not," Bucky smiled as he leaned down placing a kiss on my lips softly. "Why don't you come in, kitty," he said opening the door to his bedroom.

Watching as he closed the door I decided it was my turn to surprise him as I pinned him to the now-closed door with my lips on his. "You are full of surprises." We laughed between the kiss.

We laid on his bed talking about how we got to where we are today, he told me how he was a nerd when he was younger and how he loved seeing how to adapt to the future would come.

Something about this felt right. It felt like home.
