Part fifteen: Hostage.

Novah's POV

"Everyone, wakeup we have a situation!" I liftedmy head from my pillow hearing Steve yell from down the halls.

Feeling Bucky's arms tighten around me he let out a sigh. "Let's go back tosleep, it's too early." He murmured as he desperately wanted to go back tosleep.

Pulling myself out of his grasp I changed into the clothes for the day andshook my head. "It's either we go out there, or he busts his way In and I'msure we don't want that. Come on, Buck." He groaned meaning he was far frompleased that he had to wake up.

Sneaking out of the room I made my way down the conference room where Buckyfollowed behind still in his sleeping attire. Walking in we both took a seatacross from one another while Steve stood at the end of the table pouring a fewcups of coffee and sliding one to each of us as we took a seat.
Wrapping my hands around the hot cup it felt nice holding something warm as Iwas still cold from leaving my bed. "Why so early, Rogers." Nat said taking aseat directly across from him.

"We have a problem,"

"Oh no, please not the therapy session!" Tony said sarcastically as hesauntered in sipping his fancy coffee. He took a seat beside me and noticed Iwas looking at the cup, "have a sip- it's much better than that crap you'redrinking." He chuckled. Taking a sip from the cup my eyes went wide, it wasgood! "Right?!" Tony smiled nodding his head taking a sip not long after me.

"Can we please focus?" we both looked at Steve who was crossing his arms. "Thesituation with Joshua is getting worse, we got this last night." He played the videoto show a girl being held hostage in town. "We were sent this last night by anunknown sender. We believe it's Joshua."

Sam looked at the video unsure. "How do we know?"

"I know." They all turned to me I pointed to behind the girl "that logo, it'sHydra- or more so just Joshua's he swore by it." They all studied the black skullon the jacket. "Joshua has one tattooed on his hand, he says it's how he findshis soldiers."

Steve looked back at me. "Does any of this look familiar?"

Shaking my head that's when Tony leaned back. "That's the outskirts of town,look." Tony zoomed in on the background where it showed the city lines.

"Well, let's not waste any time." I said standing up heading out the roomhearing them all chatter behind me. I grabbed my leather body suit and slid it onzipping up the zipper as I braided my long hair. "Bucky, you can stare all youwant." I smiled looking as he walked in.

"Sorry, just you look beautiful." Blushing at his comment he smiled as he madesure no one was coming before jogging over to me putting his hands on eitherside of my face and placing a soft kiss on my lips. "I don't think you shouldcome though." He said between the kisses.

Pushing him away I looked at him in disbelief. "Excuse me?"

"I don't have a good feeling about it, Nov- I just want you to be safe."

"Bucky, I'm with the Avengers going on a rescue mission I think I will be safe.Besides, I lasted a bit without you guys, so I don't think you really get tohave much of a say in it." I looked at him as worry washed all over his face. "Wego in, get the girl and leave. Simple as that." He nodded at my response.

Following Bucky down the hall we all got into cars, I got into the car withBucky and Nat as Steve had the second car. The drive we listened to Steve goingover a base plan for what was going to happen. "Novah, are you a good actress?"he asked.

"Depends on the role, what do you need Rogers?"

"I need you to act nervous. Joshua feeds off fear and if he sees you in fear, itmight lure him out. I'm going to be with you and make him an offer saying if weget the girl- he gets you."

"Steve!" Nat and I heard Bucky on the other phone say at the same time.

"No, guys it's a good plan. I'll do it."

I could hear him relieved. "Thank you."

We pulled up to where we could see guards standing. Steve got out of his carand made his way to my door opening it. "Ready?" he whispered in my ear.Nodding he yanked me out full force causing me to yelp. Trying to fight him hegrabbed both my wrists and threw me down when we got a bit closer. "I have the girl,where is Joshua." Steve said sternly as the guards watched the others step outthe car in case anything else happened.

"He's not here." One snarled at Steve.

"I'll make you a deal, if you give me her-"he pointed to the girl who was tiedup. "I will give you her." Steve pointed to me.
Something about this felt off though, Steve was doing great, but I could nothelp but feel like we were being watched by more.
The guy nodded but instead of going to hand the girl to Steve he attacked Stevewhich broke out a huge fight as the others ran to come help as more soldiersran in from the sides.

Feeling someone dive over top of me to another person I saw Bucky as he shovedsomeone away before fighting. Looking up I met eye contact with the girl whoseemed scared. Running to her I slid down on my knees and began untying her. Assoon as I was done, she shoved me aside running down one of the alleys.
What was she doing? She was going to get herself killed!
Running after her she stopped as we made our third turn as she took the rope outof her mouth and smiled. "You're the famous Novah, my dear friend has told meso much about you."

Standing there confused I looked at her as she smiled at me. "You know, your friendsare pretty stupid to not see this coming." She threw a punch at me as I fellinto the wall, "but yet again so are you." A phone started ringing. She placedher foot on my chest and smiled as she picked up her phone. "I've got her, here."She held the phone to me.

Feeling unsure I took the phone from her and pressed it against my ear as shestepped down harder. "Hello?"

"My dear, it's been sometime, hasn't it?" My skin crawled hearing his voice again."Tell me how much you love your dear sister?"

"Don't fucking touch her!" I snarled into the microphone.

"Relax, this is what you're going to do, and I promise if you don't listen or comply,I will shoot all of them dead." I stayed silent for a moment. "Look at thebuilding above you, I have snipers pointing at every single one of them whocame today." Again, silent for a moment. "This time, Novah I won't miss."

Looking at the snipers as they pointed at the group of the ones, I loved Inodded as I seen Bucky focused on his fight. "I'll go with you, just let memake a call."

"Once you are away, you may make your call. Follow her down the alleys untilyou get to a van. You may make your call once you are far enough away." He hungup the phone which for some reason sank my heart.

Looking back at the group and to the snipers that were more than one I knew ifI did not listen, they would be killed, I saved Morgan, but I do not have thespeed to save all of them at once.
Following the girl down the alleys she stopped us gesturing to make my call. "Bequick." She snarled as she slid the car door open waiting for me to get readyto go in.

Pulling out my phone I could feel my heart race and hands start to sweat. Wewere far enough away where they would have to go through a maze if they wantedto see me. Dialing his number, it rang a few times. "Novah?" Bucky asked as Icould hear commotion in the back. "Nov, where are you?"

"I want you to listen to me carefully."

"What? Novah-"

"I'm sorry for all the pain I have caused, I am dropping this phone as soon asI hang up. There is no way out of this Bucky and for that I am sorry. I wantyou to move on, live a good life. Love someone with all your heart-"

"Novah, where are you?!" he rose his voice I could tell he caught the othersattention.

"And Bucky, keep my sister safe. Goodbye." I said pulling my phone away hearinghim yelling to me on the other end, hanging up the phone I followed the girlinto the car but before we could get in I felt something smack against my headcausing a black out.




Bucky's POV



"Goodbye." Her words rang through my ears as I felt panic ride through my body.

"Bucky! It's Novah she's-"

"I know! Novah, where are you?! Novah?" the phone went dead. Snarling I turneddown a few alleys trying to desperately find her. Wanda was by my side as weran down alleys. Wanda used her magic going into the air. "Do you see anything?"I yelled up at her.

"Nothing, Bucky. I'm sorry she's gone." Wanda floated back down as the othersjoined us.

Nat looked at us in slight confusion. "What's going on?" she asked looking at Wandaand I. "Where's Novah?"

"Joshua took her." Wanda broke the news to her before I could say anything.Wanda must have tapped into her thoughts before she came to me.

Nat's eyes grew wide as she shook her head frantically. "No, no you're wrong."We all knew she was going through some form of denial which I knew how she felta part of me wished so desperately that Novah would come from around the corner,and we could just go home.

"What do we do now?" Wanda asked looking at us.

"Now we plan a rescue mission." The words fell from Tony's mouth onto all ofus.
The drive back was silent no one knew what to say as we all had a form of angerand sadness building in us.

Getting inside I let out a snarl as I punched the wall inside my room. I toldher to stay back because it was not safe and now the one person who did make mefeel safe was gone. How come I could not keep anyone safe?
She made me feel safe and now she was gone.
I was going to find her, and when I do. Joshua would have a lot to wish forwhen he sees me.
