Chapter 11:

Novah's POV:

"You think you can leave me? I made you!" His screams echoed down the hall as I ran barefoot on the cold cement. "You don't understand my love for you." and not knowing felt like a blessing at this point.

Shoving the door open I could see the snowfall softly from the sky as the town was quiet. The darkness from the night made the snow glisten as the moon shone down onto it.

Stepping into the snow I could feel the blood drip from my hands as I walked out. These men fought brutally but yet still couldn't get an assassin. Feeling someone grab my hair I let out a gasp. "I'll make you understand" feeling the body press against me I saw a needle heading straight for my arm.

"Don't they make a sweet sleeping couple?" Opening my eyes briefly I looked to see Stark standing there with my sister beside him smiling.

Feeling an arm wrapped around me I moved my head to feel a firm chest. Looking down at the hand I could see how he was holding me. "I was sleeping" I mumbled.

"Yes, now it's time to wake up. Stark has invited everyone to go to his place for a barbeque." Natasha's words sang softly.

"I like food," startled I looked up to see Thor rubbing his eyes. "A god can feast at any time of day." I got a chuckle out of him from that. Thor looked down at me and smiled, "good morning young one. You know, you were amazing last night."

Natasha choked on air as her eyes widened. "Excuse me, what the hell did you just say?"

"That your sister is amazing?"

"Did you- did you sleep with my sister?"

"On the couch!" He smiled gleefully.

Shaking my head I sat up rubbing my face. "We didn't have sex!"

This time Thor was the one to be confused, "sex? Why would we have sex?"

Tony had gotten a kick out of this as he was nearly curled in a ball from laughing. "Tony, you are like dying here. Natasha, we didn't have sex we are in no way in any form of relations like that." I said trying to calm my trained assassin sister who looked as if she was about to tear the god of thunder's head off.

She eased off a little. "What were you two doing then?"

Thor let out a sigh before standing up from the sofa. "Young goddess here," goddess? "asked me to train her, we stayed awake until the sun shone on both of us training."

"I got pretty good, I took him down a few times. He's not an easy fight," I pointed at the tall blonde standing in front of me.

The god smiled down on me, "you flatter me. You trained well and you were amazing."

"How come I wasn't invited? I trained you a lot when we were younger." Nat frowned.

Getting up I placed a hand on her shoulder. "Never go with something you are comfortable with, I'll go get dressed and we can go to Tony's, I'm sure Iron-sass is waiting oh so patiently." Sarcasm oozed from my words at the end.

When in my room it felt so weird trying to find everything, Nat once again had put clothes on the dresser for me to wear, we went with a pair of shorts and a nice long sleeve top as well. Turning to the bed I saw a towel lying on there, was this from the other night? I hadn't remembered bringing one into the room?

That could only mean someone was in my room, that being I knew it was Bucky.

Placing my hand on the towel I smiled softly knowing he went this far as to place a towel on my bed. The smile was quickly swept away as I remembered I was trying to force myself not to like him.

Something about him just always drawn me in though, from the man who nearly killed me to the one who well, went against me to find out more about me. "Nov?" I looked up to see Nat smiling at me, "you ready to head over?"

Thankfully the drive was peaceful as Tony lived in a quiet country area. Pulling up to the house Nat and I both exited the vehicle only for a little girl to come running out of the house. "Aunty-Nat!" the little girl screamed running into my sister's arms.

"Oh wow! Look how big you've gotten princess!" Natasha smiled, it pained me for Nat as she couldn't have kids. A part of me was thankful they never got to do that to me as what they did to her. Not that I would want any but if future times ever did change. "I want you to meet someone very special to me," the little girl nodded. "Morgan, this is my little sister Novah and Novah this is Morgan Stark, Tony's daughter."

Waving my hand the little girl smiled up at me. "I like your hair, mommy won't let me grow it that long." Morgan referred to my almost waist-long hair.

Pepper chuckled catching our attention, "that's because you love getting everything you eat stuck in it late at night when dad shares all those goodies with you," she smiled down at her daughter. "I've heard a lot about you, Novah. It's good to meet you."

"You too." Smiling in return, we followed them into the backyard where a lake was.

"There she is, was worried you guys wouldn't show up." Steve chuckled tossing my sister a drink. "Want one?" he offered one towards me.

Shaking my head I smiled, "no maybe later, thank you." Tony nodded tossing the beer at Steve who was walking past. Taking a seat on the stump beside Thor I looked to see Bucky walking with Sam, laughing together. As soon as his eyes met mine his smile dropped a bit before giving me a nod.

As the evening approached the sun was starting to set. "She's asleep now, it's officially just the adults." Pepper smiled handing her husband another beer.

I hadn't had one as I didn't want to drink; "Well, what should we do?"

"Skinny dip!" Thor pointed at the lake.

"I would be down, but there are too many guys," Nat laughed. "Why don't we play truth or dare?"

Tony nodded sipping his drink "could be fun, let's play. Rogers, truth or dare."

Steve looked at Tony while chuckling, "truth."

"Of course, the captain never can be bad." Laughing we all looked to see what Tony was going to say. "Do you ever eat junk food? I always see you eating something healthy."

"I do, actually," Steve said.

We kept at it for a little joking around. Thankfully I was never asked, that was until my sister decided to pipe up. "Nov, truth or dare."

Biting my lip I looked over at my sister. "Dare."

"I dare you to spend the day with Barnes." My eyes grew wide as my sister said those words drinking her beer.

"A whole day?" Barnes said rubbing his face.

Nodding she smiled at us, "starting tomorrow."

The night was a quiet night, around the fire with people who cared for one another. It was one of the first times I felt like I was a part of something. Looking at Bucky I saw his eyes met mine as he gave a nod before sipping his beer, somehow even that made me feel things I knew I shouldn't. I just needed this day with him to be done with then we could go back to not speaking.
