Chapter 9:

Novah's POV:

Sitting outside reading my book I heard Stark talking to someone. Looking up I could see a blonde man walking with him. Tony ventured his way over where he saw my curiosity. "Hey Novah, this is Thor." he pointed to the man standing behind him.

Thor looked me up and down as he put his hands in front of him smiling. "Oh, so this is zap-man. Man, careful, don't rub your feet on the carpet you'll get zapped."

Tony burst out laughing as Thor chuckled. "Attitude, I like her." he looked at Stark. "She's a cool human."

"She could be super-soldier, we don't know for sure yet." Tony did have a point, with breaking the counter I didn't know what to think anymore.

I could feel Thor studying me as he put his hand out for me. Standing up holding his hand he looked at me. "No matter what she is, she is still a lady." he winked at me.

"Careful there god-boy. I can still kick your ass."

"Oh, a challenge?" he laughed. "Alright, how about a deal small-human" he walked right up to me towering over me. "I'll fight you, but only in training. It would be impolite to challenge a lady with training."

Laughing I nodded, "Ok, I'll keep it in mind sometime. I'm sure Stark has some stuff he needs help with first." looking over at him he smiled, "Don't you, Stark."

"Yes. Thor, right this way." He gestured to Thor to follow him inside the house.

Looking around the yard I could see Steve relaxing in the grass looking up at the clouds. Deciding to go sit with him I slumped down in the grass beside him. "What are we looking at, Rogers?" I said looking at the sky above us.

"Well, I am just looking at the clouds but I am also thinking."

"About my sister?"

Steve stayed silent for a moment. "Well, yeah actually." Looking at him he smiled softly. "She doesn't want to go public yet, she knows you know but she just isn't sure."

"She loves you, Steve."

The smile grew on his face. "I know, I just don't think she fully knows yet." I mean he wasn't wrong Natasha didn't know her feelings half the time. "Novah, you and her are like that in a way you know that right?" he pulled me out of thought.

My feelings were always something I struggled with especially with knowing I wasn't locked up and being tested on anymore. "Emotions aren't my thing."

"Well, maybe you should consider changing that. You can't keep everyone out forever Nov." we both looked at each other, "not everyone is going to hurt you. I know it may be hard to do, but try and consider it."

Sitting up I looked as Steve watched my every move. "Maybe you should speak to Nat, I appreciate your advice but you know she is the one who needs your pep talks more." He nodded to me.

Getting up I made my way to the garage where I could hear singing, or at least a lot of cursing that someone was singing.

Poking my head in I could see Bucky fixing up Steve's car. I thought I was pretty well hidden but that quickly changed, "you wanted nothing to do with me, yet here you are watching me." he poked his head up.

Licking my lips I nodded, "sorry."

"What do you need, Novah?"

Turning I faced Bucky who was cleaning oil off his hand. "I don't need anything, I thought you were someone else," I replied to him trying not to have too much attitude.

He snorted at my reply. "Did you think I was Sam, I mean you sure cozied up to him pretty quickly."

I stood there in disbelief, going to say something Bucky tossed the towel down stepping forward "or maybe you'd like to snuggle him after he sees you how you were."

"What the hell is wrong with you?" I said in disbelief at what was happening.

Bucky glared at me, "you know exactly what is happening, kitty."

Raising my hand before I could think I felt my hand meet his face. Looking at my hand and at Bucky, I could feel anger bubbling up inside of me. "I told you, don't call me that." I could feel my breathing grow heavy as the anger bubbled. "I am not with Sam. I am allowed to lie with whoever I please. You do not own me, James." I snarled at him.

His face softened a bit. "You are so ridiculous you know that you assume so much when you were the one who accepted a mission which included going against someone you trust, that's not on me that's on you. I will say this once more because I know you're going to try. Stay the hell away from me, you start as soon as I walk out this door." I spat at him.

Bucky didn't say anything.

Turning my heels I walked out the door and headed to the compound where I knew he would be. Hearing stuff being thrown I knew Bucky was upset, as much as I wanted to turn around and go console him I knew what needed to be done.

Walking inside I could see Thor eating some food with Tony.

Walking up to him he looked at me with confusion. "What's wrong?"

"We start training later." was all I said before walking off to my room, feeling eyes on me I knew they were curious.

I needed a distraction.
