Novah's POV:The days seemed long these days, it has been a few days since the incident at the park.
No ones heard or seen Stark since the day Morgan was nearly shot. It killed me knowing his family was suffering with fear because of me.Chewing some of my breakfast it was early in the morning. I was the first one awake as the others had a late night. Looking at the news there were a few more incidents and a part of me knew they were signs sent to me from Joshua.
Washing up my plate I grabbed my jacket and headed out the door. I had wanted to do this since the park and no one would let me go, so it was the perfect time to do it while no one was able to stop me.
Starting up Bucky's motor bike I kicked off heading down the drive and onto the roads that were getting busier with traffic as the city became alive.
Once I got to the store, I wanted I parked the bike and kept the helmet on only flipping the face shield so I could see better and so the store owner could see me. Walking in I was met with a smell of fresh chocolate and other baked goods. "Good morning!" an older gentleman cheered as he walked from the back carrying a tray of cookies. "What can I help you with this morning, miss?"Looking at the baked goods I chewed my lip. "Can I get a box of assorted goods?" I asked looking up at the man.
Smiling he nodded. He had grey hair and a gray mustache that fit his face well. Putting on a pair of gloves he began making the box for me. "Would you like some chocolate strawberries as well, miss?"
"Please?"
Smiling at one another he finished putting my order together and placed it in a paper bag for me. "What do I owe you?" I asked pulling out my wallet.
Chuckling he lifted his hand. "Nothing."
"Oh no, I couldn't- "
He waved at me cutting me off. "No, trust me it's okay. You remind me of my daughter. I can see something is bother you and you want to make amends." I nodded taking the bag from the counter. "Miss, remember it's either you live long enough to avenge someone or get revenge on someone. I wish my daughter knew that don't be a stranger."
Walking out the door I secured the bag of goods to the bike and took a glance back at the shop seeing the man now with his wife smiling and laughing. Getting on the bike I ventured down to my next stop to pick something up. Getting into the next store I walked around looking at all the options, but I knew which one I was getting.
Gently picking up the stuffed bunny I went to the cashier and paid, it was a silent transaction as if we both did not want to disrupt each other. The drive was a long quiet one, the roads seemed smooth as it had began raining.
Pulling up the driveway I parked the bike and watched as an angry father stormed out the door. "I told you to stay away!" he yelled getting ready to push me.Stopping I put the helmet on the bike and grabbed the bag of goods and the teddy I had shieled with my jacket as I was damp from the rain. "I know, I just came to drop these off and say I'm sorry."
Tony's face softened as he looked at the bag, nodding he signaled me to follow him. "You're stupid to be here, Romanoff. What is it?"
Sitting the bag down on the table I nodded looking at him and Pepper who joined us in the kitchen. "Believe me I was expecting to be shot on sight by you. I came to bring you guys this, I cannot even say I am sorry enough for what happened, and I do not expect you guys to ever forgive me. But I couldn't sleep at night knowing I didn't try." I looked between the two. "You can't tell me you never had that Tony because we all know it would have been a lie."
"I forgive you," we all looked behind Pepper where their daughter stood.
Feeling my eyes well up I smiled kneeling down as she walked up wrapping her arms around me in a hug. Hugging her tightly I let out a small sob. "I got you this, I know you liked bunnies your dad told me, and I thought you would like this one, it's blue and it smells like blueberries." I smiled wiping my eyes as I showed Morgan the bear. "If you ever miss me, or feel like you need a reminder of me you hug this bear, okay? I may not have gotten to be around as much as auntie Nat, but I do love you lots"
