"Son?" My dad knocked.
I jumped up. God I got to keep these nerves under control.
"come in."
I was sitting out on my balcony, watching the clouds and all its different forms. It was a beautiful day.
"Son, I know today's the day. I just want you to know how special today is for you and I just wanted to let you know, please .. for the love of the goddess, don't fuck up. Don't do what I had done.."
I could feel him cringing at the memory without even looking. He told me once that it took him years to get my mother back.
"Don't worry dad, I just hope I don't disappoint you." I sighed.
"You won't son. Why do you seem troubled? Are you on drugs? Do you have something to tell me??" He reached out, grabbing my face and looking into my eyes.
"Stop dad I'm not on drugs!" I yelled getting up.
I walked over to my bed.
"I'm just afraid of what you'll say once you find out.." I barely whispered.
"What was that son?" My dad asked.
"Nothing. I just need some time alone okay?"
"Okay .." he said hesitantly before walking out my door.
I sighed a breath of relief. Finally some time alone.
I was left with my thoughts consuming me. What will my mate look like? Will he/she love me back? Will they reject me?
I was so lost in thought I didn't even hear my little brother come in.
" Hey twy twy." My brother lazily said while climbing onto my knee.
I smiled. "Hey bud."
"Are you nevwous?" He yawned out.
"A little." I sighed.
"Dwont worry. Bwe happy!" He giggled.
"Shhh just go to sleep bud." I chucked out.
He was literally knocked out I'm two seconds.
I set my brother down on my bed and tucked him in.
'Alex. Come guard my room and watch over my bother while I go to the training room.' I ordered.
'Chill out bro. I got this. Stop your eye rolling I'm on my way.'
I chuckled. My best friend knew me so well.
I made my way to the training room. It was empty. Good. I got myself warmed up and started stretching. I went inside the weapons room and got out my bow and arrow. I set out all the targets and practice traps.
Finally.
Breath in and out. Focus. Drown everything else out.
I was in the zone now.
I heard a little click to my left and dogged the blade that zapped right past me. I rolled over landing on my left knee and shot the target right in the middle.
I heard another click behind me and caught the blade with my hand. I hurled the blade behind me.
I let this all consume me. Before I knew it, I got all 15 of my targets in less than 60 seconds.
'New record. Nice.' My wolf said approvingly.
"Whoa.." I heard someone whisper.
I turned around to find Elijah staring at me in awe.
Then it hit me like lightning. I felt like I was being ripped apart but put back together at the same time. It felt so good yet so horrendous.
'Mate!' My wolf growled out possessively.
I looked wide eyed at Elijah. He was looking at me the same way too. Except, full of lust as well.
I took a step back.
"This can't be happening." I whisperer out.
"Mine!" I heard him growl. The next thing I knew, he was inches away from me pulling me close to him.

"I cant do this..." I said breathlessly.
"But you can love .. trust me .. " Elijah said. Whispering in my ear.
He was slowly pulling his face toward mine ..
"No!" I pushed him away and sprinted out towards the woods.
I can't do this. I can't be mated to a rouge!
'What are you doing??!! Go back to our mate!!' My wolf growled out at me.
I didn't listen. I kept running. The last thing I heard before I shifted into the woods, was the painful howl of my mate.
"Elijah.." I whispered. And ran out into the woods.
