Elijah's POV:

I feel a certain emptiness. Like I'm slowly caving in on myself, suffocating. That's how I feel when Tyler keeps me in the dark. Hearing him say I'm basically of no importance to him in front of his pack members is torturing. Is he ashamed to have me as a mate?

My wolf tries telling me otherwise, saying that Tyler is just not ready. He's right I guess. Still doesn't stop the hurt I feel when he openly disregards me. Once I reach my bedroom, I lock myself in and fall in bed. Today's sudden events invade my mind and my eyes start to water.

I almost died. I almost killed those rogues. They might be vicious creatures, but they're still people, people who might still have a sliver of hope that they wont be rogues forever in them.

Todays events left us with more mysteries to solve. How had we not sensed the rogues? They have that retched smell, any wolf should be able to sense them from miles away. I let my mind wonder off, wondering how they could have possibly slipped passed us undetected, then it hits me. Of course. Their scents were hidden by witches. That's the only way that they could possibly catch us off guard like that.

I get up and start pacing around my room.

If these rogues are being aided by witches, then that means Allen has more allies than we initially thought. He not only has an army of hunters and help from witches, but also packs of rogues. If this is true...then we are severely outnumbered.

My thoughts are interrupted by a soft knock on the door. "Can I come in?"

My wolf jumps for joy at the sound of Tyler's voice.

He opens the door, peeking his head in giving me an apologetic look. I sigh and turn my head away from him, and pat the area beside me. I don't look up when I feel the dip of the bed and Tyler's hand caress my cheek.

"I'll tell them Elijah. I'll tell the pack you're mine. My mate. No more waiting."

I look up in shock. I study his face to see any sort of doubt, but I see none. I feel my chest tighten as I stare at my mate. I don't say anything, I just throw myself at him and crash his lips to mine. Tyler growls and I can feel the strong vibrations from his chest as the kiss gets deeper.

We lose control as our wolves take over, giving in to this pleasure. I lift his shirt and run my hands along his broad chest, kissing down his jaw. He grunts and  rips off my shirt and flips us over, kissing and sucking on my bottom lip.

I let out a soft moan and once again feel the rumble of Tyler's chest as he growls. I tug on his shirt, and pull it over his head, wanting, needing to feel his skin on mine. I run my hands along his toned chest as he continues to kiss my neck. I start moaning uncontrollably as he starts nipping at my sweet spot, where his mark should be. I tug on Tyler's bottom lip and that's all it took for him to lose control. He forcefully moves my head to the side to make my neck bare to him and he licks my sweet spot.

He sucks and bites tenderly then I'm hit with this indescribable pleasure. He marked me. My wolf howls with joy. Tyler preps himself up on his arms and looks at me with loving eyes. I almost sigh in contempt at the sight.

Tyler gently lifts me up and guides me outside of my bedroom. The mark took a toll on me but his touch gives me strength.

He leads me down the hallway and down the stairs. "Where are we going Tyler?" He keeps walking and we finally stand in front of a door. HIs fathers office door. I gasp. Tyler only turns to look at me and gives a crooked smile.

My mate opens the door and tugs me forward.

Without even looking up, his father sniffs the air and smells the mark, how our scents are intertwined. "Bout time son." His father shakes his head and looks up at us with a smirk.

Me and Tyler look at each other with our mouths hanging open. Tyler slowly steps forward and shakes his head in disbelief. "How...how could you have known?"

The Alpha grin only gets wider as he walks towards his son and grabs his shoulders, "I've known since the moment you laid eyes on him in the woods son. You are terrible at hiding your emotions." He lets go and howls with laughter. "You should've seen your face! I know everything Tyler, don't underestimate your Alpha."

Tyler only smiles in response. The Alpha then focuses his gaze on me and I freeze. "Don't worry now Elijah I support you two, but I must say we cannot tell the pack about this. At least not until this battle we have arising with your father ends."

"Of course Alpha, we understand. Thank you for supporting us." I bow my head and retreat back to Tyler. Then It hits me. Allen and his allies!

"Alpha! I have some very important information. When me and Tyler were together we didn't smell the rogues. You know as well as I do that their stench cannot be missed...unless it is masked by a potion...made by witches..." The Alpha lets out a ferocious growl that seemed to shake the ground beneath us.

"He has rogues and witches at his bidding which leaves us outnumbered and vulnerable. Damn him. Tyler I'm gonna need your help in preparing the pack for any surprise attacks Alan has in store for us. We need more warriors and we need more armor for our pack. "

We stay in his office, arranging more trainings for the pack members, watch teams around the packs borders, and strategies to kill my father.

This war is happening. I cannot stop it, but I will end it. For my mate. For this pack.

For my mother.
