Elijah Pov .
Its been three months. Three months and during all that time, not one full minute could I spend with my mate.
The rogue attacks grew. It seems there's a new attack every week. I hear talk of war, but I chose not to believe it. Not when my mate will be smack in the middle of it.
Today he has promised me that we would spend some time together. It's already midnight.
I was just about to drift to sleep when I heard someone come in.
"Hey Eli.."
"Tyler" I get up and jump into his arms.
He chuckles and hugs me tighter. "I can't stay for long. Maybe 15 minutes. I'm sorry.."
My mood instantly drops. I feel a frown forming on my lips but I stop it short.
"It's okay. I understand. The attacks should be your main focus." I jump on my bed and lay my head back. He joins me.
He interwines our hands together and for a while we are just there in out thoughts. Not long after he has to go.
"I'll be back. I promise." And with that, he kisses me.
"Okay"
Once he leaves I burst in tears. Why? I don't know. This mate bond is getting the best of me.
I curl into a ball and just let the black veil of sleep consume me.

"Cwom! Hurry Ewyyy!"
I laugh out loud. Me and this kid have gotten close.
"I'm coming I'm coming!" I yell back.
I start spinning him and we land on the ground.
"Ohh I got you now sucker!" He giggles and I start tickling him, making him erupt in huge fits of laughter.
Then I smell something.
I get up and push Evan behind me. I sniff the air and use my heightened senses.
Silver. Wolf's bane. Rougues.
"WARN THE ALPHA. WE'RE UNDER ATTACK!!" I yell at anyone who can hear me.
I take Evan and run to the safe house. Before I can get to the door I feel someone snatch him from my arms.
He screams.
"GIVE HIM BACK TO ME" I Growl out.
I look up to see three rougues. The one in the middle I recongnize.
"Z-zeke?" I barely manage to choke out.
He smirks. "Hello brother."
