*Tyler's Pov.*
Black.
That's all that consumes me. Just a black void I couldn't seem to wake up from just yet.
I felt someone squeeze my hand.
Mate.
I try desperately to open my eyes. Finally, my effort pays off as I slowly feel myself waking up.
I open my eyes and shut them fast.
Damn lights.
I hear my mate gasp and yell for the nurses.
I suddenly feel hands touching and prodding my wounds and checking the machines.
"It should have taken longer than this.." I hear a nurse say in amazement.
What?
I give a command for everyone to leave. I need some time alone with my mate.
I see him start to leave too and quickly pull him towards me.
"Not you." I say.
I can see his excitement in his eyes and smile.
"What happened?"
His expression saddens as he tells me the events that occurred that day. I can see how hard it was for him to replay those memories. I just wanted to grab him and hold him tight.
I quickly remember what happened and sadness washes over me as well. I thought I had lost my mate.
He quickly reassures me that his wounds were completely healed.
"Oh, thank the moon goddess!" I yell.
He laughs at my behavior.
His laugh. That smile.
I pull him into a tight embrace, then sniff. He tenses.
"Um, babe?" I ask, trying not to laugh.
"Yeah?"
"You stink like death."
He turns tomato red. I burst out laughing.
I didn't mean to!
"Uh-um, sorry.." he says pulling away.
Damn it.
"Don't be shy, I smell like death to, now go take a shower." I command.
I smirk as he stands there. "Unless, you want me to join in with you?"
He turns beat red again.
"Um, no I'm good I'm just gonna go." He says and tried to hurriedly go into the bathroom.
"Wait! Come here." I pull him to me and give him a long and passionate kiss.
Finally.
"I'm sorry for what I did to you." I whisper, then gently push him into the bathroom.
I turn around to go back to bed, when I hear him say, "It's all right."
I smile.
We've got our mate back.
