I stared at my mate in shock but quickly composed my face once I saw the menace in his eyes. I gave a hard glare and directed it at the rogues. I must be strong like him, for us.
"It's going to be okay Eli. On my count, I'm going to start barreling towards them okay?"
Elijah looked at me, face void of any emotion. "Let me handle this." His eyes turned a deep glowing red and his voice dropped dangerously low. It turned me on. I nodded my head weakly.
Elijah directed his gaze towards the rogues and I saw some start to cower back. Eli let out a menacing growl that could be heard from miles away and closed his eyes in concentration. At first it was hard to notice, but the rogues started dropping one by one, bleeding from their noses.
I looked back and forth between Elijah and the rogues in amazement.
My mate opened his eyes and they went back to his gorgeous color. He looked at me sheepishly, "I didn't want you to kill us trying to run over a pack of wolves ...call your warriors, bring all those rogues in." I grabbed his hand and couldn't stop staring at him in awe.
"You're amazing you know that?" and I lightly pecked his lips.
I pulled back and pressed my forehead to his. "What'd you do to them?"
He looked down, almost ashamed. "I made them bleed from the inside, kind of like stabbing them multiple times but with my mind, I caused that internal damage, but I didn't do enough to kill them... they'll heal."
He did that with his mind? How is that possible? He is dangerous....
"Don't beat yourself over this love. You did what was right, we survived this because of you." He looked into my eyes and nodded, letting out a breath of relief.
'Dad Elijah just took out a pack of rogues that were going to attack us bring out warriors immediately thirty miles west of our pack grounds by the small river these rogues won't be out for long'
'We'll be there in five minutes'
"My father and some of our warriors should be here in five minutes." Elijah gave me a small nod and we waited in the dead of night for our pack to arrive.
We hear the rustling of leaves and soon saw our warriors emerge, stances in battle mode if deemed necessary.
My dad shifts behind a tree and comes out with shorts and a shirt. "Son what happened?"
"Me and Elijah came to scope out the area when a knife was thrown at him. We ran to the car and out of nowhere we were surrounded by these rogues. I don't know how I didn't smell them before...anyways, Elijah took them out with his mind, using those special abilities he has."
My dad nodded thoughtfully, assessing all the information. "Wait, why were you scoping out this area alone? Why didn't you ask for help?"
I stiffened. "Because...we didn't want to waste your time and efforts if this was a bust?"
My dad looked at me, scrutinizing me, before giving me a nod.
I let out a breath and looked to Elijah. My heart broke at the sight of his down cast face. I was tempted to touch his face and plead with him to understand, but I stopped myself. My pack member and father couldn't find out. Yet.
They loaded the rogues into a truck they brought with them and left for the pack house with Elijah and I following close behind. Once we arrived to the pack house, he jumped out of the car and ran towards the door.
GO GET MATE!
I was getting ready to ran after him when my father yelled for me to go to the dungeon. I grinded my teeth together, my wolf trying to push through. I turned and ran towards my father. The warriors dragged the wolves towards the cells and we waited for them to wake.
A couple minutes passed before the first one started to wake. I grabbed the wolves throat and started thrashing him around violently. "SHIFT ROGUE!" He immediately complied and I smirked. Weak wolf.
I put on gloves and grabbed the silver knife hanging in the wall. "Now, mind telling me why you and the pack of savages tried to attack me and one of my pack members? I slowly traces the tip of the sharp knife across the rogues' chest and smiled as I saw him flinch at the burning sensation.
I waited for the scum to blurt any information out, but was met with only silence. I sighed. "I guess we have to do this the hard way." The rouges head shot up and he gave me a look of fear. I felt a smile tug at my lips but I quickly restrained it.
I turned around and grabbed the whip the had sharp nails on all sides. I brought the weapon forward and didn't even wait for his pleas of mercy and struck down his chest. Hard. I didn't give him time to scream out and slashed his chest, the whip running all the way down to his stomach.
"PLEASE! STOP! I.... CAN'T...." His eyes were starting to droop. He was passing out. I grabbed his face roughly and punched him square in the jaw.
I dropped my voice dangerously low, "Tell me and this will all be over. I'll let you go. Ill end your misery of staying in this cell. Tell. Me." I felt the reason and the whatever 'fight' this rogue had in him slip away.
"We...we were only told to kill the Alpha of this pack and retrieve the one named Elijah. A man named Alan gave us description o-of you both and... payed us very generously. He said he has something big planned and he needed...Elijah. He needed...you dead. That's all I know...I swear."
I stared at the rouge angrily. "THAT'S NOT ENOUGH!" I let out a menacing growl and lashed out on the worthless wolf. I clawed and bit and whipped him endlessly. My control slipping. I continued this until all that was left of him was bone.
How can I protect my mate and this pack if all leads we encounter go straight towards another mystery and more questions?
I turned to leave and filled my father in quickly on what happened and the information I managed to get out. We agreed to interrogate all rogues to see if we could get anymore details and we headed out. I walked back to the pack house and couldn't stop thinking about what I should say to my mate.
'It's time. We can no longer hurt mate! It is time to tell pack!'
I let out a long, heavy breath. My wolf is right.
It's time.
