Sam~
I had been in the army for a few week and we were marching to the White Fang Mountains to stop a demon army.
I've tried to get a look at Rowans mate to see if she is everything he said she was but I can't seem to ever be in the same place as her.
Though I've heard rumors that the Queen isn't actually with us every since she failed to protect us with her fire in Perranth but no one has come out and confirmed them.
We had reached Anielle and once again I see the familiar sight of large black looming troops marching towards us.
We fight but it seems like a lost cause when the witch towers are brought out killing almost all of the bane in one strike many soldiers flee but I stand strong using my assassin training to take down the enemy.
Then I feel the ground start to shake.
Boom
Boom
Boom
It goes in a rhythmic pattern I search for the source of the sound and I freeze when I see valg foot soldiers pounding a large battering ram into Anielles giant dam.
This time I don't hold my ground and I join the remaining soldiers in running off the field but the water is already coming out and we won't be able to make it.
A large horse with a girl on it shoots in the opposite direction I make no move to stop it though and keep running.
Then a golden haired girl drops from the sky covered in full gold armor.
The Queen of Terrasan has come to save us all I had seen the glint of her armor all the way across the battle field earlier fighting side by side with her court and citizens.
She was prepared to give her life just to save her people, the ones who had remained hopeful all 12 years that one day she would come back and save them from Ardalan's rule.
Even though I am far away from her I can feel the heat radiating off the multicolored flames she uses to stop the incoming wave.
Everything thing freezes caught in the unnatural beauty of the fire, the water is gone with in minutes all that is left of it is the steam that rolls though the vally in thick clouds.
Its breath taking on its own but when she turns her face away from the fire to gaze upon her army I fall to the ground even from all the way across the battle field I can recognize her.
In gleaming gold armor with a ancient sword at her side, is Celeana controlling the power of a thousand suns.
Her turquoise eyes burn with the same power that just destroyed a dam full of water they scan the crowd assessing the damage done.
All around me the soldiers start to cheer for their queen but I stand numb, trapped in my own thoughts.
This is the girl I once loved and she hid such a secret from me.
Then all of the signs come crashing down.
How she and Aedion looked so much a like, why Rowan looked onto me with a smile that showed he knew something I did't, why everyone treated her with so much respect, how she knew all of the most influential people in the world, why every year on the same exact day of Terrasans fall she would lock herself in her room I had always thought she was grieving for her old life but really it was that and so much more she was honoring her citizens and her parents and all the people she could't save.
I realized why I had made her so upset all those months ago when I called Rowan a monster and a freak because unknown to me I was also calling her one.
Making her think that I would't accept her and her past.
I had been so selfish not letting her be who she was and trying to make sure that she always remained my and in the process I had lost her to another.
Then the King of Terransan flew down from the ledge and scooped her up in his arms my heart pulled at the sight of the two of them pulled into a tight embrace.
Until next time peace out!
