Manage

Yesterday let's not talk about what's on Ushijima's mind, but he did search through the internet cause it has all the answer and as a curious puppy he is he clicked on an illegal website and gotten distracted that he didn't had enough sleep. Y/N was still wondering if she should manage the volleyball club since all she does there is clean up, and admire the guys to play, but she decided to sign the paper anyways so she could have an addition for her grades.

I came to school early to get the key to the gym, I know that the guys play early in the morning everyday, how can they keep doing it? I'm pretty much still sleepy cause I was doing my homework last night.

I unlocked the gym leaving it open so they would just come in. The gym is clean so there's nothing much to work here but to sweep, thank goodness, I put down my bag on the bench at the side and go to unlock the cleaning supply room. I rolled my eyes when the mop and brooms got stuck together and the bottles are just left open.

"Seriously?" I mutter to myself as I fixed the room. I sighed in relief when I finished sweeping the gym, I look at my phone and it was 7:30 yet the team members are not here.

I checked the new schedule I got since I became the manager, surprisingly I'm free every monday to Wednesday morning, and have extra time after lunch every Thursday and friday. I smiled to myself, but then realized that all those free time is to manage the gym. After classes though I have to go to the club until their practice is over, I only sighed.

Uncle knew about me being the manager now, he actually tried to ask me last year if I could join them but I declined and I'd rather stay home early. I only wait with Tendou if he comes home early or if I'm bored at the house and just stay late, besides my relationship with uncle are now exposed we don't have to hide anything I can stay and go whenever I want to now that I'm the manager. I'll use my previlege with my uncle being the coach here to go home early, I only giggled to myself.

I heard footsteps coming inside here and it was Tsutomu Goshiki, I have memorized every member in this club earlier so I won't get confused. He also seemed to notice me "Morning, I'm your new manager here" I said "G-good morning" He said then walked away. Not a talkative type, I sat back down on the bench again, I only followed where the boy go and he went inside their locker room.

A bald tall guy came in, his face familiar to me, then realized that it was Kai, the one who complimented me. "You must be the new manager" He quickly approached me "Kai Akakura, I'm Y/N L/N, nice to meet you again" I smiled at him, "Please call me Kai, might as well have a first name basis with me if you're gonna manage us" I nodded, this guy is sweet.

A spiked up olive browned hair similar to Ushijima's hair guy, was approaching us too. "New manager?" he said I nodded, "you must be Yusho Sagae" he smiled then nodded. "You guys better go with your practice, class starts in two hours." I said and they nodded. Both of them seemed to be close.

"Y/N-chan" Tendou shouted excitedly while running towards me. "Tendou" he hugged me but then my feet was up in the air when I reakized he started carrying me like a toddler. "Tendo- no put me down" he giggled then put me down, I know that he can carry me despite my weight, he has those muscles after all. "you're the new manager, I can finally show off more of my skills in practice" I only giggled, "the new manager?" another guy said, I looked behind Tendou who seems to be approaching us "Shirabu Kenjiro, I'm Y/N" I said, he nodded then smiled, "You're cute" he said, "t-thanks" still not comfortable by getting compliments. "Go to your practice now, I'll just be here." They both went along.

"Y/N" a bald guy with glasses approached me with a jacket that's the same as my uncles, must be the teacher. "Sensei," I smiled, "Welcome, please don't work yourself too hard" he said and I nodded, "no worries sensei" he sat down beside me.

Seimi Eita and Ushijima Wakatoshi both came in together, I waved at them. "Good morning" they both said in unison, they might've knew that I'm the new manager already.

Reon Ohira and Taichi Kawanishi are the last two players left and they could all practice, Uncle is not yet to be seen, but shouldn't he be early since he's the coach after all.

"Where's uncle?" I ask sensei, "Oh, he's always late coming here" he chuckled, really? Late, I guess he trust his students to practice on their own.

"It's you-" I looked around to where that voice came from, this must be "Yamagata Hayato" I said, I almost forgot about him, he's that guy that asked me to serve I didn't know what his intentions were. "You're the new manager," he took my hand and shook it, "you're really cute" I only chuckled, "thanks, I'm Y/N now can you let go of my hand" he blushed and let my hand go "sorry" he then walked away. Must be embarrassed.

All of them started a their practice , they were already drenched in sweat, and my uncle finally came, he only sat there and observed while he also scold them for making a mistake. Does he have to be so hard with them, it's 8 in the morning, I probably would get pissed especially if I didn't have enough sleep.

Some of them took glances at me, I only watched their game, and also played on my phone, there's nothing really exciting here but just them having a good volleyball match. Tendou kept calling me while coach was busy giving advices to some of the boys, he wants me to watch him so I did. His blocks are really good but everytime he succeeds on blocking he seems to be really creepy about it, and Coach is just letting him. I guess coach has his favorites.

Ushijima hits the ball pretty hard that you can feel the ball go down the floor, I wonder how the ball never pops with their spikes. The balls must've been through alot of hits. Poor them.

With their breaks, I gave them their own towels and water bottles, they all thanked me of course, if they didn't might as well hit them with it.

"Y/N, hey" Ushijima said while I handed him his towel "Hi?" I smiled, that sounded like he wants to tell me something. "W-what do you think of my.. Skills earlier?" he asked, do they need second opinions about this? I thought he has confidence with his skills. "You hit pretty hard, I almost feel bad for the ball" I only chuckled to myself, I tried making it as a joke, he smirked while he gave me back his water bottle. He barely makes any expression when he plays and talks with his other members yet here he is giving me a smile twice.

I noticed that their water bottles doesn't have a name on it, do they drink on each of these randomly? That's weird, I decided to put each of their water bottles their own names using a permanent marker of course, starting with Ushijima. Then I put it aside. I approached Kai and Yusho to name their water bottles, they both agreed and let me named it. I approached the ginger haired guy Taichi, "Hey can I borrow your water bottle for a sec, to put your name on it" he gave me a go-away look, but instead of doing that I stayed and gave him a smile. After a few seconds he gave me his water bottle and I named it, instead of giving it to him I put it aside, I'm trying to do something nice to you and you gave me that attitude, might as well treat you the same.

After a few writing on their water bottles I finally sat back down on the bench and sighed. They're all quiet and seemed to be shy.

"Hey that's my water bottle, can't you see Y/N put my name there" Goshiki said to Shirabu, "Oh really? I'm pretty sure she mixed it up," I heard he always bicker Goshiki. I approach both of then and snatched the water bottle on his hand, I lean down towards his face, "Your water bottle is right beside you sweetie, now if you leave Goshiki alone and focus on your practice then I won't be hitting you with this water bottle instead" I pinched his face then smiled "cutie" I approached Goshiki and gave him his water bottle, "Even if he is your upperclassmen, stand up to him when he doesn't treat you the way you wanna be treated." I gave him his water bottle then walked away, "Y/N-chan, that was cool back there" Tendo said, I only did that cause Hayato is the only one defending Goshiki, and he's not here yet. "Ehh, it's a managers job to keep these club calm" I said.

A certain olive-browned haired boy noticed that happening, he only looked at her with admiration. The event that happened at the beach, and now this, she's gonna be a great manager.

I'm so sorry if it was this long, : D and tbh I only searched some of their names cause others were barely mentioned in season 3 and a few episodes in season 4. I don't want some of the underrated characters left out, so they'll be mentioned once in a while in the story : D not much though, this is about u and Ushijima, ❤️ thanks for reading
