Special Chapter: A Happy New Year
"Mama!Mama! Daddy is turning into a monster!" my son shouted as he ran across the living room habang hinahabol naman siya ni Ethan.
"Careful anak..." ginulo ko yung buhok niya ng mapadaan siya sa'kin, pawis na naman, kanina pa sila naglalaro ng papa niya.
"Hello baby girl..." I felt a warm breath swift across my neck as I turned my head towards the man I married years ago.
"Hey handsome." I smiled as I ran my hands on his smooth cheeks.
"Daddy!" napatingin kami kay little Tyler who was looking almost horrified at us.
"What is it baby?" I asked. Ano naman kaya to?
"Daddy don't hug mama too tight, my sister is being squeezed!" he pouted.
Napatawa naman kaming dalawa ni Ethan, he is getting a little bit over protective sa little sister niya. Yep, I'm 6 months pregnant, finally a baby girl.
Hindi pa namin alam ang ipapangalan namin sa kaniya eh, Sheena was doing all the research.
"I promise I won't, so go play." Ethan talked to him and gave a wink to his son.
"I'm watching you dad." I laughed as he gave an eye to eye sign with his cute little fingers to his dad.
"No problem kuya." Ethan responded habang tinitingnan namin siyang pumunta sa kusina, guguluhin niya naman si Tita Sheena niya dun.
"So where were we?" He spun me around while I was laughing my heart out because of the funny faces he was making.
"I don't know handsome." I tried to tease him but failed when I felt his soft lips brushed on mine.
"Hhhmmm... We could cancel the New Year." he said matching my tease as he carefully pressed his warm body into mine as if taking all the warning his son told awhile ago.
"Little Tyler will miss the fireworks." I smiled.
"Right." I couldn't even think straight when he looks at me in the eye, para na akung nalulunod.
I closed my eyes when I felt his soft lips into mine, nibbling every part of it like I was the---
"Mama! Lolo and Lola is here!" we suddenly broke apart when my little Tyler suddenly came, "Ugh! Daddy! I told you to stop squeezing mom!" he yelled really frustrated when Ethan pulled me into a hug.
His father just laughed and said, "Naiinggit lang yan, halika nga dito."
Then little Tyler came running and hugged my feet. Binuhat naman siya ni Ethan, tapos my little Tyler kissed me on the cheeks. Mag-ama talaga to.
"Happy New year!" Papa who was all smiles just came together with Mama by her side.
"Happy new year too." I left my mag-ama as I approached them to give a hug.
"Ooohh... my apo is getting bigger." Mama just can't help to look at my growing belly.
"Oo nga po eh," I smiled.
"At mas lalong nagiging over protective ang kuya." Ethan stated as he walked to his dad and Tita Alice.
Nag mano naman si Tyler sa lolo at lola niya.
"Lumalaki na ah." Papa commented.
"Oo naman lolo, look!" tapos ayun, pinakita naman ang non-existing muscles niya, turo yan ni Ethan, wag niyo ng itanung sa kin.
Napatawa naman kaming lahat.
"Finally! Andito na rin kayo, malapit na ang 12:00 ha." kalalabas lang ni Sheena sa kusina tugging along her husband who is a chef.
"Wow! The newly wed is already here na pala!" Mama Alice said in delight. Nung November lang ikinasal si Sheena sa US.
"Siguruhin mong mabubusog kami Liam ha." Papa said to Sheena's husband.
"Cooking for everyone is my specialty Pa." Liam replied.
"Excuse me po, 5 minutes to 12 na po." Butled Chad announced, tapos nagdali-dali na kaming lumabas. Meron kasi kaming pinagawang outdoor cottage ni Ethan eh, para lang talaga dito, kasi first naming mag host ng New Year, minsan kasi sa bahay nila Papa o bahay nila Sheena, ngayon kami naman.
Umupo sa gitna namin ni Ethan ang little Tyler namin. Sila Mama may sariling upuan ding magkasama sila ni Papa, same with Sheena and Liam---did I mention they were just so perfect?
Naghihintay lang kami sa big event na hinihintay talaga ni little Tyler every New Year, nag prepare talaga kami ng custom made wooden seat na pina-arranged namin sa courtyard.
"Eto na everyone! 10!" Sheena started to count and we joined along.

Ethan looked at me while all of them was counting which made me stop, "I'm happy." he said and gave me the breathtaking smile he always did. The counting instantly came into mute, or was it just me? I don't know, all I could see is Ethan.
"That's why I love you." I said and gave him a kiss noting that my child was already watching the fireworks with such amazement.
We broke away and watched the sky dazzle with fireworks, Sheena ordered this from Liam's friend in China. A firework in a shape of the dragon was a personal request by my little boy which is almost impossible.
"Mama look!" little Tyler said not tearing his eyes from the sky as a dragon shape firework just painted the colorful night sky.
"Come closer." I heard Ethan whisper. Napatingin ako sa kaniya, he was actually looking at me.
I leaned closer and was surprised to feel his soft lips touch mine. He was careful not to bother our son just sitting there.
"I love you." he said while looking at my eyes, we've been married for almost six years now, but nothing has changed, sabi nila married life is a challenge, but he made me feel like it was just as easy as breathing.
"I love you more." I replied.
