We arrive at the airport and George’s flight comes a half hour before Nick and I’s. Dream takes us in as far as he can stopping before the metal detectors and carry-on check ins. We all hug dream so tightly. I can feel George crying into his chest. We leave Dream because the security guard is pushing us along as we are holding up the line. Dream just turns on his heals and walks away, not looking behind. This is the first time I have actually seen Dream show his emotions like this. We help George through to his gate and wait with him. His flight gets called and we usher him over. He swings in for one last hug before skipping awkwardly away.

“I’m going to miss them so much,” Nick says as he hugs me, without letting me go. His head sits on top of mine and my head lays in his chest. I can feel his heartbeat really fast so I grip him in tighter. He grabs a hold of my shirt and scrunches it in his fist. He stays like this until our flight gets a warning call, where he quickly looks up, wipes a tear from his face and grabs my hand. We walk over to Gate 6 and join the que. Nick squeezes my hand 3 times and pulls me towards the flight attendant. We get our tickets checked in and go through. We find our seats; Nick isn’t talking much which is fair enough as he just left his best friends.

The plane takes off and nestles his head into the crevasse of my shoulder and closes his eyes. I lay my head on top of his and put his hand in mine and sit it on my lap. I turn my head and kiss him. After a few minutes I get my earphones out and put on in. Nick looks up and points to his ear. I put the other earbud into his ear and play our playlist. He returns back to my shoulder and sleeps. For the remainder of the flight Nick sleeps on me. I eventually fall asleep on him for a while until I am woken by slight turbulence. Nick sleeps completely through it. I set my head off of his to stretch my neck. I play with Nick’s hair for a while. I do not know how he keeps it so soft but I love it.

The pilot lets us all know we are landing soon. Nick woke up to the ‘ding ding ding’ before the announcement. I have a large patch of drool on my shirt from where Nick slept.

“oops, I’m so sorry baby.”

“It’s fine, don’t even worry.”

“Here,” Nick says as he takes off his sweater. “Put this on top.”

I pull on Nick’s sweater just as the seatbelt sign turns on. We buckle ourselves in and we head towards the ground, slowly and safely don’t worry. The plane goes onto the runway and comes to a stop. We wait for the signal to get off. We get to walk across the tarmac. Nick holds my hand while we walk across it. It feels so weird so be in the fresh air instead of a stuffy airport or plane. We go and collect our bags from baggage claim. Nick decides to wheel both our suitcases, one in each hand.

We call a taxi and haul the bags into the trunk. We both decide to sit in the back. The taxi driver’s music was really bad and Nick and I were laughing to ourselves in the back, silently so he couldn’t hear us. We arrive back at our college, unload our things, and walk towards the gate. We both just stand there for a bit staring at the taunting gates. Eventually we walk in and towards C block. Once we get there, we have to drag our bags all the way up the 5 levels of stairs. Finally we reached the top and walked to our dorms. I begun to turn into my room but Nick grabbed my arm. “Mine.”

He pulls me over to him and unlocks the door. We both leave our suitcases near the front door and run towards the bed. Nick manages to jump on first, I say it’s the long legs. He put his arms out and I jumped on top of him. He wraps his arms all the way around me and pulls me into him. I just lay on top of him, my head in his chest, my arms around his waist, underneath him. He has his arms wrapped around me, sitting on top of my back. Very soon we both fall to sleep without a second thought.
