Chapter Thirty. Meet The Parents

-couple days’ time skip-

It’s the day my parents are flying out to come and meet up with me. I am so excited for them to finally meet Nick and for us to all hang out. I am certain that they will love Nick, how could you not? He was adorable and so sweet. Anyways, its currently 9.30 am on the weekend and Nick and I are just snuggling in the warm bed. My parents flight comes in around 12 and I am in charge of picking them up. Nick is going to drive me to the airport because I hate driving and he loves it. I call that a win win. Nick rolls over so his face is smushed up against mine. “I am excited to meet your parents,” He tells me. 

“After this I get to meet yours, right?” I ask.

“You know mine live here, right?”

“Pardon?” His parents live here, in Houston and he never invited them over?

“T H E Y  L I V E  H E R E  I N  H O U S T O N” He spells it out nice and slow, teasing me.

“WHY HAVENT THEY BEEN INVITED OVER YET?”

“Y/n, why do you think I live here?”

“I don’t know, why?”

“Because I don’t want to be with them, I mean I love them but sometimes they just don’t give me enough freedom.”

“Oh, okay then.”

The airport is half an hour away so we decide to leave at 11.15. That means we still have just over an hour now to get ready. Nick wears his most presentable jeans and a t-shirt. I put on my nicest pair of jeans as well with a cute blue top and jacket. I do my hair nice and neat, and Nick just runs his hand through his. We decide to go to the café and grab some brunch before we left. We shared a croissant with Nutella and talked until it was time to leave. 

We hopped in the car and drove to the airport. Last night Nick had made sure he had an acceptable playlist without swearing, any mentions of sex, drugs or alcohol. He found it very hard but managed to come up with a playlist that went for 34 minutes exactly. We listened to our playlist and switched to the other one just as we arrived at the airport.

I texted my mom to let her know we are here when she arrives. She replied back telling me they were just getting their bags and to meet them at the front. We went to the main entrance and waited.

“I’m a little nervous now.” Nick said grabbing my hand.

“Don’t be, they will love you, I promise.”

“Y/N!” My mom comes running out the door and drops her bag. My dad picks her bag up and rolls it over. They both swoop me into a hug. My mom then runs to Nick and hugs him, “Uh Nick, I’ve heard so much about you!” My dad puts his hand out for Nick to shake it when my mom is finished hugging him. They shake hands and we take them to the car. We put their suitcases in the back and drive them to their hotel. We drop their bags off into their room and then head off. 

“Where did you guys want to go?” I ask my parents.

We all decided just to go to the park to hang out together. Once we got there, we all sat on a table and talked all afternoon. Nick and my parents clicked instantly. I could barely get a word in. Nick and my mom were best friends by the night. We all went back to our places and freshened up before meeting at a fancy restaurant. We arrived there and my dad actually wore a tie, which he only wears on special occasions. Nick is a lucky guy. We walked in and found our seats. My parents decided to pay for our meals as a gift. We talked all night about college, Florida, our relationship, and everything that my parents had been up to while I was gone. They had to go back home in 2 days which was quite sad as we didn’t have that much time with them.

The last few days have been jammed packed with activities to do with my parents and now it was time for them to leave. I walked in on my dad and Nick talking in private which was weird but I didn’t question it. We helped them pack their things and haul them into the taxis. Nick had offered to drive but they insisted not to waste Nick’s time and fuel. We waved my parents off goodbye. My mom had told me she approved of Nick and that my dad loved him as well. They both said I picked the one. 

a/n: as their relationship goes on the time skips will be a little longer so there isn't 365 chapters 😂
