Chapter Thirty Eight. Dinner

-a week time skip-

“Good morning Sunshine,” Nick says as he rolls over and hugs me nice and tight. It’s freezing and he pulls the doona over our heads and kisses my forehead. “I have big plans for us today,” He says with a grin on his face. “Like what?” I reply back to him holding his hand. 

“It’s a surprise but, wear something fancy and meet me downstairs tonight at 5. I will be out most of today and will meet you there, okay?” 

“Okayyy Nickkyyy, I love you.”

Nick pops out from the blankets and pulls on some casual clothes, I lie in bed and watch him as he comes back over, kisses me and walks towards the door. He pulls it open, waves goodbye, blows a kiss and closes the door behind him. I hear George and Nick talking outside the door, getting fainter as they walk out of the house. 

Nick’s Pov

I leave Y/n and meet George outside out room, we walk out of the house and head to the car. I’ve made a list of things that I need to do today for my big night. The list goes as follows:

Flower shop – lilies 
Tux Shop – I need a new blazer
Target – candles, snacks, picnic mat, pillows
We drive to the nicest flower shop here according to google. Once we arrive there it is the most cutest shop I have ever seen. We walk in and the shop keeper greets us with the brightest smile and immediately comes over to help us.

“Hi, how can I be of assistance today?”

“Um, I am going to propose to my girlfriend tonight and I need your whole stock of lilies.”

“That’s such a great choice, let me take you to our collection.”

The shop keeper guides us over to the lily section and helps us pick out the nicest ones. George holds them all in his hands and the keeper asks if we would like him to wrap them in any particular wrap. He shows us his array of wrapping paper and George helps me pick out a nice white one with gold lining and gold pattern on the top. It is perfect for the occasion and he wraps it neatly for me. We pay and thank him for his time and we walk out of the shop.

Next place to go is to buy me a new blazer for dinner tonight. I have already booked the place so no need to worry. I drive George to the place and we hop out. We browse for a while trying to match my pants. Eventually I find the perfect blazer to match. I go to the dressing rooms and fix it on. I walk out like I m on a runway and model it for George. He fakes swiping money off of his hands. I take the blazer back off and hang it on the clothes hanger and go to pay for it. I swipe my card and that’s another thing off the list. We get back in the car and we go to target. 

Once we arrive George and I head in and find the candle section. We pick out vanilla scented candles and some containers so that we can hang it off the tree, and some jars to put them in for safety. We find some fairy lights that Dream and George can hang up before we arrive. George picks out a pink and blue picnic mat, and I found some matching blankets and cushions to go with it. Afterwards we go to the snack section and I pick out all of y/n’s favourite snacks including hot Cheetos, monsters, lollies and chocolates. I paid for them all and George and I hid it in the trunk of the car. 

It was around 3pm now, so we went into drive through McDonalds and got something to eat before heading back to our house. By the time we got home it was around 4, which means, assuming I am correct, Y/n would be in the shower and starting to get ready for our date. We unlocked the door and as assumed; y/n was in the shower. This was perfect, I found Dream and him and George head out to the park to set our date up. Dream comes down all giggly and excited for me. 

I head down to the basement room, collect my formal attire I put down there earlier. I then put it on and fix my scruffy beard and tidy my hair up. Once I am finished, I put my tie on and spray y/n favourite cologne on. I head upstairs and sit on the lounge and wait for y/n to finish. 

“Nick.”

I turn around and there she is…

Y/N’s Pov

It was around 3.30 and I asked Dream to help me pick out an outfit. He came into my room and opened the closet and picked out around 3 different dresses. One was an emerald, green split dress, made out of a fine silk. The second dress was a long black one, tight around my body. And the last was a deep purple, flowing dress.

I hopped into the warm shower and washed my hair. When I hopped out, I brushed, blow dried and straightened it. I did my glamourous makeup and even put fake lashes on. I slipped myself into the dress and found a pair of shoes to match my outfit. I walked downstairs and saw Nick sitting on the couch.

“Nick.”

He turned around.

Nick’s Pov

I turn around and there she is standing at the top of the staircase in a tight, black dress that accentuates her sexy figure. She has got black heels that do up above her ankle and her hair is straightened and out. “You are so gorgeous y/n.” She blushes and walks down the stairs; I stand up and meet her at the bottom holding my hand out for her. She holds it and thanks me; I then lead her out to the taxi I ordered and open her door for her. She hops in and I run to the other side and hop in myself.

“Can I know where we are going now?”

“Nope,” I say smirking at her. 

The taxi takes us to the restaurant and I take Y/n’s hand and we walk to the door. We go inside and the waitress takes us to our table. I specifically asked for the table to be set up romantically and it was. We sat down opposite of each other and looked through the menu. “It’s my shout so pick absolutely anything you want,” I tell her. The waitress came over and asked for our drink orders. I asked for the finest wine they had and y/n went red because I was spoiling her. The waitress came back over and poured our glasses for us. Then she asked for our orders, Y/n ordered the schnitzel with fries and gravy, and I ordered the steak with fries. We talked while we waited for our meals and I kept hinting about our future. 

She took her glass of wine and had a massive sip from it, she begun sliding her heel up my pant leg and I looked down then up, she was smirking at me and I grabbed her hand and leant over the table. “Later.” She kept her foot on top of mine and kept drinking her wine. Our meals came over and we got into it straight away. We finished our meals and sat there for a bit together. The waitress came back over and asked if we wanted the dessert menu, I looked at Y/n and she shook her head. I told the waitress “No thank you,” and we went on our way. 

We walked out of the restaurant and hugged Y/n tightly in the cold air. “I love you,” She said looking up to me. I kissed her forehead and said, “One more surprise baby girl.”
