a/n: THIS CHAPTER CONTAINS SPOILERS also for this chapter, I've changed it so that Karasuno win against Shiratorizawa by Tsukki blocking Ushijima's spike

Tsukishima glared at Tendou who had just cruelly blocked one of Hinata and Kageyama's freak quick sets. It was the third set and tension was high: both Shiratorizawa and Karasuno were at one set won apiece and the pressure was slowly tiring the players.

Tendou laughed and began singing once more, 'Baki baki ni ore-'

Atsuko shuffled in her seat, worried for Karasuno. Tendou appeared unfazed by Karasuno's spikes and stamina was slowly running out. Nishinoya had miraculously been able to dig a few of Ushijima's serves which had caused great celebration from Karasuno's side but that was long ago and they were slowly digging their own graves. The score was 25-25.

Tsukishima was tired. He was done with this match. He couldn't win. He didn't care. He was alone.

'AKITERU!' the young Tsukishima's eyes gleamed from behind his glasses. His older brother Akiteru Tsukishima smiled.

'When's your next volleyball match, big bro?' Tsukishima grinned and Akiteru ruffled his little brother's hair, smiling nervously.

'Soon, little bro, soon. As the captain, I have to organise these things.'

Tsukishima giggled and looked up with awe at his big brother, 'When I'm older, I wanna be just like you!'

Akiteru's smile faltered a little, 'How about we practice some digs in the garden?'

Tsukishima was a little older now and sitting in the stands, eagerly waiting for his big brother to walk out onto the court. Karasuno's team sloped onto the court. Tsukishima's eyes scanned over the players excitedly, looking for his grinning big brother. He had been hyped up about this game for weeks, watching his brother practice and begging to hear more stories about his captaincy.

All his trust, placed in Akiteru. After all, Akiteru was the captain of the powerhouse volleyball team and the ace. Tsukishima bit his lip nervously when he couldn't find his big bro. Akiteru was definitely the captain. Akiteru was definitely on this team. Tsukishima's eyes wandered to the other side of the court and glanced past the cheering crowd where his eyes settled on Akiteru. There he was. His star brother. Guilty and tired. It was all a lie. It was all a fucking lie.

Tsukishima grimaced and glared at Tendou who was smirking. Why was he even here? There was no point anymore. He sighed.

'TSUKKI!'

His head shot up to the crowd. Atsuko was yelling at him.

'DON'T GIVE UP FOR FROG'S SAKE.'

Tsukishima muffled his laughter as Tendou scoffed and Tanaka and Nishnoya wiggled their eyebrows suggestively.

'DON'T GIVE UP. NOT BECAUSE OF ONE THING THAT HAPPENED YEARS AGO. YOU'RE HERE NOW AND THAT'S WHAT MATTERS. SO FRICKING KICK THEIR ASSES!' Atsuko screeched and the whole Karasuno cheer team went wild, laughing and cheering the team on.

Tsukishima grinned and started laughing. It had been so long since he had laughed like this. Daichi clapped him on the back and he got ready to block.

Atsuko was right. Fuck Akiteru (a/n: gladly). This was his life. He didn't give a shit anymore. He smiled as Ushijima prepared to serve.

He glanced up at Atsuko one last time, and she gave him a reassuring smile. The whistle was blown and, as if it were in slow motion, Ushijima jumped up and hit the ball with immense power. Tsukishima jumped, and faintly remembered feeling like his hand had just been hit by a large truck. He fell to the ground, the court so silent he could hear his raspy breathing and the patter of his feet on the floor. And then a loud roar, Hinata and Daichi attacking him with a hug and Eri screeching something.

Tsukishima had done it. He had blocked Ushijima's serve. And in doing so, he had won this match. For Karasuno. They were going to nationals. His eyes widened and a smile spread across his face. He fell to the floor and laughed. He felt alive.

He stood up and looked up at Atsuko. Her face was flushed red, eyes gleaming and smile wide. She was beautiful.

And before he knew what was happening, Atsuko was running down to the court and he was walking towards her. She stopped breathless in front of him before wrapping her arms around him and kissing him until they were both out of breath and dizzy but they didn't care because they were in love. And with the crowd cheering, they laughed and fell into each other's arms.

"You and me, forever?" Atsuko whispered. Tsukishima smiled.

"Always."
