"Star light, star bright, the first star I see tonight, I wish I may, I wish I might, have the wish I wish tonight. That Sabrina be safe. That we all be safe." Nick echoed in his mind as Sabrina said it aloud. He continued looking at her with admiration and sympathy. Why must something like this always happen to her?, he asked himself, or to the cosmos, or whoever is out there. She didn't deserve any of this. When she then turned to him,

"Thank you, for being here.", she told him as she raised her right hand then slowly landed on his shoulder as she played with his hair.

He didn't know what to say so he just offered her a smile & hoped he could give her comfort. With everything that happened today, there were no words of comfort that he could offer her, really. Just this morning they were having a conversation about how she couldn't forgive him that easily for how he hurt her. He told her that he'd wait however long it takes, and he meant it with all his heart. And then, just a few hours later, he found out that there are two Sabrinas, & apparently the world was in the brink of chaos and that the only solution to that was having the two of them merge. He could still remember the conversation from earlier as it played in his head.

"Merge? What do they mean, "merge"?", Hilda asked Metatron. He then immediately tried to find in his memories if he had read any books about it. All he could remember was it said it to be difficult and proper preparations must be made. Failing to do these preparations could endanger the parties merging. None of the books however, told anything that could happen after the merge for it wasn't something commonly done, specially between humans.

"And what if only one's memory survives?", the clayboy asked. "Or neither's does?", seconded Hilda.

He felt his heartbeat rise.

"Are those our only options? Death or a merge?", Sabrina Spellman asked. Strangely enough, the sound of her voice soothed him but when Metatron said that it was their only option, his heart sunk. Both the Sabrinas asked if they could speak alone for the moment, no one argued. All they could do was wait in silence as the two Sabrinas talked about their fate.

Before they entered and announced what they had decided, somehow he knew that they'd agree but he was hoping they wouldn't. He was wracking his brains on other possible solutions, but alas, when they came in and she said, "So we're going to do it.", he felt numb inside as he felt defeated. "I don't care about the world, I only care about you", he recalled those words that he said to her once. And he felt like saying them again.

"You have six hours", was all he heard before Metatron disappeared and he locked eyes with Sabrina. So many unspoken words. So many things that were left unsaid.

"Meet me at the Mortuary in an hour." she told him. All he could do was agree as she turned to her family. He knew it was no use arguing and that their decision was final.

The time they spent together after they met in her room was one of the best moments of his life. He remembered that once he told her, "deep, deep down, you know you're saving yourself for someone else, and we both know who." She told him that "That's not fair, and that's not true." And she was right, it wasn't fair. He was that one who told her, "no pressure", and he meant it though that 'not true' part, he always doubted it. He just tried so hard not to show it. But what happened earlier, it was something that he did not expect. He wasn't expecting anything really.

For a few hours, they were happy. They were together. They thought only of themselves. They didn't say goodbye however. He couldn't. Not when he just got her back. So all he could say minutes before the merge was "Come back to me, Spellman".

The merge, thank Hecate, did not happen. But, they were again faced with the choice of who to send to the other Earth. At that moment, he didn't even know what to feel anymore. He was relieved however, when it was the Morningstar that they would send away. And now, they're in her room. He didn't want to leave her alone. Though he didn't know exactly what to do, he knew that he needed to be by her side.
