"Gotcha!" 7-tear-old Stacy squealed, tackling Luke onto the soft grass of the park.

The two children giggled, wrestling around on the ground. Eventually, they were lying next to one another, attempting to catch their breath.

"Luke?" The young girl asked, recovering from the laughing fit she just had. The sun shined into both of their faces, to which they merely avoided glancing straight forward.

"What?"  The mentioned boy replied, his large, daffodil eyes blinking at her.

"Can we make a promise?" She suggested, rolling onto her stomach, the cold grass providing a calming feeling to her bare arms.

"What kind of promise?" He questioned, mirroring the action his friend had just done.

"That we'll always stay by each other's sides?"  She explained, a tone of confidence taking over her young, joyous voice, "No matter what happens!"

"Yeah!" Luke beamed back, holding out his pinky finger to her. She repeated the action, their small fingers entwining. "Forever and always..." The ginger boy whispered.

"Forever and always." Stacy confirmed, showing off a large smile, bright as the hot sun they laid under.

"Hey!" A young boy's voice angrily screeched. Suddenly, Zander collapsed between the two, laying down next to both of them, "You guys forgot me!"

Luke let out a soft giggle, hugging his mauve-haired friend, "Sorry, Zander."

Meanwhile, Stacy was still grinning. Excited to keep the promise she and Luke had made.

Young, naive, unaware of the dreadful future waiting for them.

"Is your nose feeling better?"

The navy-haired girl, quickly glanced up at her auburn-haired best friend, "Oh! yeah, it's a lot better, thanks to you..." She offered him a playful grin, which he returned.

He took a moment to glance at her. The indigo strands that swayed over her periwinkle eyes, the shining smile, bright enough to light up a room, that she always wore.

"Hey... Stacy?" He murmured, pulling his honey eyes off of her.

She turned her head to him, her smile dying down a bit, yet still there, "Yeah?"

"Um..." He nervously brushed his bangs out of his eyes, tucking them behind his ear, "So, there's actually something I've been meaning to tell you for a while now..."

Alarmed by the added seriousness to his tone, Stacy frowned, "What's wrong?"

"I... Uh..." Before Luke could continue, the pair heard a familiar voice.

"Yeah, no problem... Are you okay?"

They both remained silent, exchanged a glance, before turning towards the music room door, which they happened to just be passing by.

"Is that... Jake?" The auburn-haired male asked. Stacy simply shrugged. Confused, Luke took a couple of steps closer to the club room, peering through the half-open door.

His breath hitched, as his golden eyes soaked in the sight in front of him. Jake and Zander stood inside, embracing each other.

"Luke, are you alright?" He felt someone gently clinging onto his arm, he was too distracted to care.

"Is, something going on between them...?" He stammered in a shaky voice.

Following her crush's eyes, Stacy glanced into the room, seeing the pair of boys. "Why is Jake in the music room?" She whispered, more to herself than to Luke. Either way, he didn't respond, he just clutched onto the door frame, staring at the two.
