CAL'S POV
I woke up on the Curtis couch and sat up rubbing the sleep from my eyes. Darry laughed as I walked into the kitchen. "You are drowning in that shirt."
I stuck my tongue out at him, he chuckled.
"It sure is comfy," I said.
"Keep it. It don't fit me anyway."
"Why thank you," I responded grinning. I absolutely love big t-shirts.
It was Monday which meant I had to take Soda and Steve to work. I didn't really need to drive them, the DX was about a fifteen-minute walk from the house but I didn't mind driving them.
I drove the guys to work and was hanging out with Soda at the front desk.
We were talking about his girl. "I think I'm gonna marry her."
"That's fantastic!" I exclaimed as a guy came up to the counter with a coke and chips.
"Will that be all?" Soda asked, turning to the guy. The guy seemed to be about 19 to 20ish. He was probably about 6ft with chocolate brown hair. He wasn't a greaser but didn't look soc.
"Uh, yeah unless I can also get your number?" He asked me.
"Um, why?" I asked, confused. I could see Soda out of my peripheral trying not to laugh.
"Uh, cause I want to take you out on a date."
"Ohhhh, I am so sorry," I said blushing with realization. "One sec, let me get a pen." I hastily wrote my number on a scrap of paper. "Um, here," I said, handing it to him, still blushing profusely. "I'm Cal by the way."
"I'm James and thanks," He said and walked out the door.
Soda burst out laughing. And I buried my face in my hands.
"That was terrible."
"It wasn't that bad."
"Really?" I asked looking up.
"It was pretty bad."
I just buried my face in my hands again.
Darry said he would pick up Steve and Soda from work because he needed gas anyway.
Dal and I were walking from Bucks to the Curtis at sunset when the guy from the Dingo came walking down the dark street. He had about three guys with him.
"You son of a bitch!" He yelled. Stopping about fifteen feet from us. "You slashed my tires and spray painted my car." Dal just smirked while puffing on his cigarette.
"You think this is funny."
"Well, I mean, yeah," Dal said.
"I don't think you'll find it so funny when I beat your ass."
"I mean you could try," Dally responded.
"And how about the broad next to you, she looks like she'd be fun," Griff said, gesturing to me. Dal's smirk dropped.
