As The World Caves In

ch.9

Raven kisses Wanda passionately, imaginary fireworks exploding behind them. They move in sync, feeling their heart thumping out of their chest. The feeling is unimaginable, the type of emotion you cannot explain.

Wanda could feel the moment of impact, all of her tribulations slowly fading away as her lips touched Raven in a way she could've never imagined.

Raven slowly retreats away from Wanda, gazing into her green, emerald eyes. The younger woman caresses her face, appreciating Wanda's features.

"You have no idea how long I've been wanting to do that." Raven says with a smile.

"Me too." Wanda replies, feeling content.

"That was a great speech."

"Spoken from my heart." Wanda says softly.

Wanda and Raven spent the rest of the night looking at each other, grateful that they are both existing at the same time.

The next morning...

Everyone is currently gathered around the table eating breakfast. Raven's eyes glued to Wanda who is too busy cutting her pancakes into a semi perfect square. She admires this sight, a smile slowly creeping up on her face. Too bad they are seated across each other and not next to each other.

Wanda looks up seeing the younger woman staring at her with a blushful smile. She returns one, her cheeks feeling warmer than she wanted it to.

They enjoy breakfast together, laughters going around the room.

"Alright, what's going on over here?" Thor asks, suspicious of the two.

"With who?" Bruce adds.

"Raven and Wanda." Thor says. "You guys have been looking at each other secretly since we got here."

Raven coughs, "What are you talking about?"

"Don't even try to hide it." Thor insists.

Wanda's face grew brighter, the warmth emitting out of her cheeks almost instantly.

"Something happened between you two didn't it?" Thor pushes.

Wanda chokes on her food, surprised at the remark.

"Clearly the alcohol has gotten to your head." Raven claps back, earning laughs from the rest of the members.

"Ha, nice one!" Tony laughs.

Raven sips on her coffee, glancing at Wanda for a quick second before looking elsewhere.

After breakfast, everyone had gone their separate ways, occupying themselves with their respective work.

Raven searches for Wanda, unable to find her anywhere.

Not in the greenhouse.

Not in the lounge area.

And neither any of the training facilities.

"Hey, Bruce have you seen Wanda anywhere?"

"She probably went to the cemetery." Bruce answers. "Today marks two years since her brother Pietro died."

"Okay, thank you."

Raven goes back to her room, sinking at the edge of her bed, thinking. Finally, an idea pops into her head.

The younger woman teleports into Wanda's room, scanning her surroundings for anything that she could touch to go to where the older woman could be.
