Ivory's POV:
It was finally time to spend Christmas with the Malfoys. Last year, Draco surprised me with a trip to a wonderful old cottage. I made some of my most cherished memories there.
This year, his father had arranged for an Uber to pick us up at Platform 9 3/4 around noon. The driver was already waiting for us when we arrived. Draco promptly helped me with my luggage, placing it in the trunk before settling beside me.
"Good to see you again, kid. You're growing up so quickly.", the driver remarked, glancing at Draco through the rearview mirror.
"You too sir.", Draco responded politely.
"And you must be...?", The driver turned his attention to me with a curious expression.
"I'm Ivory, Draco's girlfriend.", I said, offering a proud smile as I glanced at Draco, who gently held my hand.
"Beautiful girl, nice to meet you!", the driver responded warmly.
"Nice to meet you as well, sir."
Draco's POV:
I didn't want to worry Ivory, so I pushed aside my own concerns about having to introduce her to my parents. As our driver picked us up, she rested her head gently on my shoulder.
"Draco, do you think your parents will like me?", she murmured, her voice soft with uncertainty.
I had been dreading this moment. To be honest, I wasn't sure if they'd accept her. My father, especially, had strict views on pureblood lineage, something I had never considered important. After all, I hadn't even asked Ivory about her blood status because, to me, it didn't matter.
"I think they'll love you.", I replied, offering what I hoped was a reassuring smile. Her expression softened in relief, but internally, I was filled with dread. It was a lie, perhaps, but I needed to comfort her. She smiled back at me before drifting off to sleep.
Ivory's POV:
"We're here, darling.", Draco whispered, gently shaking me awake. A wave of anxiety washed over me, and I couldn't understand why I felt so nervous all of a sudden. The driver was already unloading our bags, carrying them inside.
Draco held my hand tightly, "Come on, princess. Stay close to me."
We stepped into the manor, which was nothing short of massive, yet somehow felt familiar. Narcissa came down the stairs and gave her son a hug. "Mum, this is my girlfriend, Ivory."
My shyness quickly resurfaced, and I offered a nervous smile and a small wave. Narcissa, however, was quick to pull me into a hug as well. "Ivory, dear! I've heard so much about you!"
"You have?", I asked, glancing at Draco with a mixture of surprise and curiosity, the smile on my face betraying the nerves I was trying to hide.
"Didn't Draco tell you? He talks about you in almost every letter he sends me." The kind smile she had on her face while looking at her son, warmed my heart.
"Mum!" Draco's face flushed with embarrassment. Narcissa and I both chuckled at his discomfort. This moment seemed to ease some of Draco's anxiety about returning home.
"You write about me, Draco?", I asked, blushing slightly.
He looked down, clearly embarrassed, and muttered, "I don't want to talk about it right now."
Narcissa smiled warmly at me. "It's so good to finally meet you. You're a gorgeous girl!"
"You are so kind, Mrs. Malfoy. Thank you for welcoming me into your home."
