Decision 1 continued:Sam's POV:
I'm back at Carly's apartment. I've watched two episodes of Girlie Cow and managed to keep myself from panicking. I just realized that two episodes is an hour. I should check my eye color.
I go into the bathroom and look in the mirror. They are brown like chocolate.
I've always heard that brown eyes hold the riches hurried in the ground and carry earthquakes that bring mountains to their knees.
Brown eyes have been beautiful to me ever since I heard that. I've always treasured my golden hazel eyes because of that. This brown is a darker brown murkier than mine.
I think to myself who has brown eyes. The only people I can think of are Gibby, Freddie, and Griffin.
My soulmate can't be Gibby because ew! ew!ewwww! He never wears a shirt and he carries around a silicon copy of his head.
It can't be Freddie because we hate each other and he's nerdy and I'm not.
Maybe it's Griffin. He is really hot! He rides a motorcycle and wears leather jackets. It must be him! I think.
Freddie's POV:
Let's see if she is a night owl, I think to myself.
I take a sip of the water and nothing. She must either not be eating or be asleep.
Since I'm still up. I decide to text and Sam and check on her.
To Sam:
Hey Sammie! Just checking on you to make sure you're ok.
📽Freddie
She immediately
To Freddie:
I'm good. Thanks again Nub! You really helped me. By the way did you make your first decision yet?
🥴Sam
I sigh knowing she's ok and I reply.
To Sam:
I'm glad you're ok. Yes, I made my first decision. How about you?
📽Freddie
Again an immediate response comes across my screen.
To Freddie:
Yes, I did. I chose eye color and mine are brown now supposedly like my soulmates or whatever. What about you?
🥴Sam
I reply worried I made the wrong decision.
To Sam:
I chose the water. It's supposed to taste like whatever my soulmate eats. I drank a sip, but tasted nothing. Must not be a night owl.
📽Freddie
Another immediate response.
To Freddie:
Just so you know I'm sure you made the right decision. Goodnight Freddie.
🥴Sam
I send one more response.
To Sam:
If you get messed up in the middle of the night text me. I've got my phone right next to me. Night Sammie!
📽Freddie
I drift off to sleep.
The following day.
Carly's POV:
I wake up early brush my teeth and head downstairs.
"Morning Sam!" I say.
"Morning Carl's!" She responds all groggy.
She gets up and basically drags herself to the fridge. She grabs a pack of bacon and throws it on the stove.
She turns around to talk to me.
The first thing I notice is her eyes are different.
"Sam your eyes!" I scream, "did you make your first decision?" I ask.
"Yeah. I kinda chose the eye color that's why they are dark brown. They are supposed to match my soulmates." She says not phased at all.
"That's so cool!" I reply excitedly, "who do you think your soulmate is?" I ask.
"Griffin." She says cheerfully. "He's so hot!" She continues.
My face drops. "That's cool!" I say as cheery as I can. "I'm gonna go," I continue, "clean up when you're done."
I grab my jacket and exit the apartment I figure now is as good a time as any to spend my $100. I'm pretty bummed I really like Griffin, but I don't want Sam to be sad. So if he makes her happy than I'm willingly to live with that sacrifice.
I go to the mall and spend my $100 on build-a-bra and sunglasses. I'm pretty happy now that I've gotten to have a shopping spree.
Freddie's POV:
I walk into Carly's apartment. "Morning Carly!" I say.
"She not here." Sam says while standing in the kitchen leaning over the stove.
"Ohhh!" I respond disappointed and I rub my hand through my hair. I head into the kitchen and lean against the counter.
"Not happy to see me." She says laughing.
"Just was expecting Carly to be here." I say.
"Lover boy she'll be back later!" She continues, "grab the eggs from the fridge and get cooking."
I go to the fridge and get the eggs.
"How do you like your eggs?" I ask.
"Scrambled is fine." She says looking up quickly and then turning her attention back to her bacon.
Silence fills the room as I attend to the eggs and Sam the bacon. The only noise that can be heard is the sizzle and pop of bacon cooking on the stove.
Sam breaks the silence, "pass me a plate" she demands.
I grab a plate from the cabinet drape a paper towel over it and hand it to her. She places the bacon on the plate and leaves it there.
"Why aren't you eating the bacon?" I ask knowing Sam's not the type of person to just not touch food on a plate.
She punches me in the arm and I let out and ow!
"The key to perfect bacon is to let it sit and allow the paper towel to absorb the grease." She replies proudly, "it gives it more flavor."
I laugh, "of course you would have a particular method for cooking bacon" I say mockingly.
"Mamma takes her meats very seriously." She replies proudly.
(Sam sneaks a piece of bacon without Freddie seeing it.)
I grab the nearest drink on the counter and take a sip. I spit it out immediately. It tastes like bacon, I think to myself.
Sam gives me a weird look and asks "what's wrong with you nub? It's just a bottle of water."
I look at the drink in my hand, it's my soulmate water. My soulmate is eating bacon.
"I didn't realize I grabbed my soulmate water" I say "it tastes like bacon."
Her eyes get wide and she mumbled something under her breath.
I then come to the realization Sam was making bacon, but then I sigh... it can't be her she hasn't eaten any of it yet.
