Chapter 19
I woke up before the sun had even risen in the morning and I was staring at the ceiling. I didn't know what to think, my mind was so clouded with all of what has been going on. After I told them my story and Cole threw me in the water over the dock, in that moment it's like all the stress of the earlier days vanished. The boys had decided to take a swim along with me and we stayed out for hours just laughing and enjoying how things were.
There were no secrets.
I felt relieved after I had told them, I had waited so long to tell someone that it was a relief to finally get it off my chest. I told them how I went and visited my mother that day, and that is where I had been all day. I loved how they didn't treat me any differently, they didn't stare at me with sympathy like I thought they would. They still made jokes or played pranks on me, they still acted as if I were me the girl who showed up one day.
The only few things that changed were me. I changed, I finally opened up to them and they accepted me. I became more sociable with them and learned more about them. It felt amazing to have someone there for you when you need them.
I decide that my body refuses to fall asleep and make my way to the shower. Once done I walk out and sit on my balcony. Yes, I have my own balcony. Can you believe it?! I'm still getting used to the spoils of being with a wealthy family.
The sun starts to come up with it's like purple and pink hue over the ocean waters. I faintly hear the light creak of my door, but I don't bother looking back. I already know it's one of the boys coming in, the parents have returned to work saying they are just a phone call away. I don't think they find Ryan as threat seeming he has no idea where I am or who I'm with. It was in fact my mother who desired for me to be with the Parkers.
Someone quietly steps behind me, I let out a surprised squeal when I feel fingers dig into my sides. Even though I knew he was there I still am very ticklish. Caden falls to the floor laughing, which he soon composed himself when he saw my death glare at him. "Oh come on Kat, you know it was funny."
"To you maybe. I however find it rather annoying.” I take a step back when he stands back up. I notice a mischievous look in his eyes, which make mine widen.
“You only say that because you hate being tickled.” I instantly take off running but it’s no use. Conner, the oh so helpful twin, is waiting for me.
“Where do you think your going?” he asks me innocently.
I simply roll my eyes and reply with the same amount of innocence, “Oh just out for a morning stroll, would you like to join?”
He laughs now finding me amusing, “I’m sure that’s what you were doing.” not for a second believing me.
I pray for my last hope of not going down, knowing these two tickling will be the end of me. With my last hope I try my back up plan, “Cody!!” I scream for him. Why didn’t I yell for Cole you ask? Well because of last night. Knowing he will find this fun and join in.
Cody comes charging out of his room like my superhero. “What’s going on?” he asks worried. God I love these boys.
“Conner and Caden are trying to torture me.” I state innocently.
Cody glare at Conner, “You’re really doing this at five in the morning?” he voice is filled with sleep but also a chill.
Conner shrugs innocently, “It was Caden’s idea.”
Caden emerges from the room, “Way to throw me under the bus, bro.”
Cody shakes his head, “Enough you two, leave Kat alone.” Conner walks away and Caden grumbles something as he passes me.
