Chapter 6

I stand in the front office a little awkwardly for a few moments while I wait for my schedule. Once the lady comes back and hands me my schedule, I quickly scan through it. This doesn't seem to hard. I walk out of the office and get those stares again from everyone. As I walk down the halls the whispers start.

Who is she?

Why does she dress like that?

Where did she come from?

I ignore all the stares and comments and make my way to my first class and take a seat in the back. When the teacher walks in I believe he's going to start the lesson but instead he decides to be one of those teachers. "Class we have a new student today her name is Katherine Ford. Katherine would you please stand up and tell us something about yourself"

I'm not one used to confrontation so you can see why I am so reluctant to do what he says, but I stand up anyway and awkwardly shuffle my feet as everyone is alerted to my attention. "I'm Kat and I...uhm..."

Before I can get a full sentence out a girl in the class coughs out "Freak" and the class erupts in laughter. I flush and immedietly sit back down trying but failing so go unnoticed. The teacher shoots me an apologetic look before he gets the classes attention and begins the lesson.

It's finally lunch time and by now everyone knows the new girl, me. I have had only  four classes so far and I've heard about almost every name in the book get thrown at me. I wonder idly if I should even be in the cafeteria but make myself over to an empty table in the corner.

After the lunch room seems to be getting settled down, I hear a voice behind me. "Your the new girl right?" Oh great not again.

I turn around and come face to face with two girls. One who is tall and beautiful with dirty blonde hair and brown eyes and has a wave of confidence about her, the other look just as beautiful but look shy and timid she has short brown hair and green eyes. "Yeah" I reply timidly not really wanting to deal with anymore shit today.

"I'm Tori and this is Natalie" The more confident one, known as Tori says.

"Hi" I say stupidly. What else am I supposed to say? This is the longest I've gone talking with someone without being insulted.

"Is it alright if we sit with you?" Tori askes politely and I nod still in a daze.

Natalie speaks for the first time in a quiet voice, " Your probably wondering why we are being nice to you" I stare at her in surprise but nod again. "We heard the rumors"

 Rumors?? Already? What are they saying about me now?

I freeze, oh no what if they know about Ryan. No they couldn't. I shake my head of those thought immediatly. Do they know I live with the Parkers? No, they wouldn't be treating me this way if they did, I think.

I look at these two girl in front of me and simply smile. Maybe I will actually make some friends for once.

After school is over I am emotionally exausted I don't think I could have taken another minute of being picked on or pushed down in the hallway by 'accident'. I make my way over to Cody with my best puppy dog eyes pleading him to give me a ride home so I don't have to ride on that death trap again. He chuckles and nods toward the back seat and I squeal in delight.

I look over at Cole and wave bye to him before slipping in the back seat. Luckily the students all cleared out as fast as they could so there was noone to see me riding with the Parkers. That would sure be the start of some great rumors.

Once back to the house I quickly slip inside and up to my room. I drop onto my bed and think about skipping school the next day. Before I kcan get to far into my thought I am whisked up by strong arms and thrown over a set of defined naked shoulders. I freeze in fear for a moment before tensing in pain. "Put me down!!" I shout at the boy that's undrneath me not yet knowing who it is.

I hear a deep sexy chuckle. Oh boy, that was hot. Stop! I tell myself. Stupid hormones. Then a voice I recognize as Cole's says "Nope, it's time to go for a little swim" I freeze up, Oh no,no,no,no this is not happening.

"No Cole! Put me down now!" I squirm failing miserably to get out of his arms. In the process rubbing against my bruises.

Cole laughs at my feeble attempts but sets me down once we are in the kitchen "Get dressed we are going to the beach" he tells me smirling at me.

"You tell me this after you take me out of my room and downstairs away from my clothes?" His smirk drops and I feel slightly achieved, but before I have time to dwell on it his smirk is back.

"Yup" He says simply and extends his hand out pointing to the stairs "Go get dressed. We're all waiting on you"

I glare at him before turning around and start my walk back to my room. Right as I'm passing Cole I feel a sharp slap on my behind. I sharply turn and glare at him "Did you just slap my ass?!" I shout in surprise.

Cole simply smirks, "It's a nice ass too" I am fuming as I spin around and walk upstairs to my room.

I then realize two things: one, I have no bathing suits to wear and two, I still have light bruises covering my abdomen. How do I explain that? I quickly make my way downstairs to the boys who are all shirtless and wearing swimming trunks. My jaw drops at how beautiful these boys are. I hurriedly fix myself and look at them. Conner and Caden are sharing an identical smirk, but its Conner who speaks, "Like what you see?"

I compose myself and reply simply with "I've seen better" which causes there mouths to drop open in shock. I can't help it I start laughing because their faces all together are just priceless.

Once I control my laughter, Caden finally speaks up, "Why aren't you dressed yet?

I try to think of a reply but before I know it im being thrown over yet another shoulder. This time I saw my attacker and it was none other than Cody. I shout in surprise as we are all running out the door, well all except me whose being carried at a fast pace. "Too late you'll just have to go swimming dressed" Cody shouts.

I quickly do a mental check off what could go wrong in this situation and come up short. I'm wearing a black shirt and some faded jean shorts. I have nothing seethrough on and it's not like I can't swim. As I finish processing my last thought I am engulfed in cold water I jump up squealing because what other reaction could you possibly think of doing when you get drenched with something cold.

All of this is followed by four other boys joining me in the cold but refreshing sea water. We swim aroound for I don't know how long before the sun starts to set and my alreay cold body starts to shake. Caden notices that I'm not used to the weather here and rounds everyone up to head home.

As we are walking back up to the house, Caden and Conner in the lead, myself in the middle, and Cody and Cole taking up the back. I hear a sharp intake of breath behind me and Cody shout, "What the hell is that?!"  He sounds angry.

I turn around and look at what he's pointing to and I notice it's me. I follow his finger down to my side where my shirt has risen up and is showing my still dark but fading bruise.

Oh shit.
