Second Chances

Miranda POV

*2 weeks later*

This is a lot harder than I thought it would be. I am completely lost in all my college classes, have to meet all my friends again, and I even have to go back to work and the internship.

My stomach healed from the accident. It hurt to put pressure on it but at least I was up and moving once again. Steven wouldn't let me see the guy I crashed into... he probably didn't make it. I feel so terrible about the whole thing.

Another thing about Steven, he won't leave me alone. He doesn't trust me going out and he keeps asking about some safe? I'm so confused... I think I'm going to break up with him.

When I got back to my apartment, I met Delaney (again) and she is helping me around. She is so sweet and apparently we work together, which is great. I'm glad I became friends with her.

Today, she's taking me to the internship to refamiliarize me with everything. I met with my leader- Matt and she introduced me to Corey and Dylan, who I'm best friends with?? It's a lot to take in....

After touring the building Matt told me to work the front desk to direct people and sign them in, supposedly I was once very good at it... sounds boring to me.

So all day I sat at the desk, mindlessly checking people in. Looking around desperately for something to trigger my memory.

Scott POV

 

Today Pentatonix is putting the finishing touches on our album with the help of Delaney. I wish it was Miranda but she has yet to return, and I'm honestly really worried.

I told everyone to just go upstairs and that I'll check us on. The girl at the front desk was facing away from me.

"Excuse me" I said politely, she turned around and met my eyes.

"Miranda you're back!!!" I couldn't believe it, I reached around and hugged her. Almost instantly she winced...

"Uhh hi, who are you?" The beautiful brunette looked at me confused. I completely forgot what happened to her.

"I'm Scott, we've met before, I'm in your brothers band."

"He has a band? Seriously? Mitch?"

"Yes and we're very successful."

"That's hard to believe if Mitch is in it." Ouch.

"Pentatonix." She clicked something on her computer then looked at me.

"What happened to your leg?" I had a huge boot around my leg to protect it.

"I broke it in a car accident."

"I'm so sorry. I was just in one too."

"Small world huh." I said lamely, I don't think she knows what actually happened...

"Well I'll call you Miranda."

"Uhh okay."

"Scott." I smiled.

"Okay Scott."

I caught the elevator upstairs and walked into the room. "You'll never guess who just checked me in!"

"She's back???" Kirstie smiled widely and ran out of the room.

"Great..." Mitch sighed.

Avi and Kevin never hung out with her before the accident, so they didn't really know her.

This is my chance to start all over again. I can make a good first impression and I can finally tell her how I feel. Maybe she'll even like me back!

But now Kirstie and I have to fix her family relationship all over again... sounds like we need another plan. I can only imagine what Kirst is telling her right now...
