Mitch POV

*three days later*

I look horrible. I glanced at myself in the mirror as I fixed my tux. There were bags under my eyes and I looked like I haven't slept in years. My face still looked blotchy from all the tears.

She was too young.

I collapsed for what must've been the thousandth time since her death. Why did this have to happen? I pulled my knees to my head and sobbed. Avi came behind me and rubbed my back.

"She wouldn't want you to do this." He said, "she just wants you to be happy. That's why she protected you all those times. For your happiness."
"How am I supposed to be happy when she's dead?" I muttered and desperately tried to wipe the tears from under my eyes. "It's all my fault." I rubbed my arm over the fresh scars under my jacket.

"No. She took her own life. It was completely her decision."
"But I helped drive her suicidal thoughts."
"Mitch, this is not your fault, okay? She didn't want to live anymore. I'm not saying that it's okay... it's just her decision. And I know what you're doing, Mitch. Please stop with the razor, I can't lose you too." I watched as tears fell from Avi's eyes as he sat on the ground next to me. Will we ever recover?

Scott POV

As everyone else got ready for the funeral I sat in shock. I haven't moved since I returned from the hospital after Josh left his marks. He warned me to not go to her funeral, because she "Wouldn't want to see a douche like you, Scott." I'm going to honor it, I am a horrible person. But I was just trying to help her...

No, that's not an excuse. At least I didn't kidnap her... well... I should just leave. Pack my bags and forget she ever existed. I'll just leave everything behind and reinvent myself. Perfect.

Josh POV

*4 hours later*
The funeral was set in a dark room full of Miranda's colleagues and friends. Her dad even flew out for the occasion. I stood at the podium in front of sad, depressed people.

"Now, many of you don't know who I am. My name is Josh. I am criminal, I am a brother, I am a thief, but more importantly I am- or I was, a boyfriend. I didn't know Miranda for very long, but those were the best few weeks of my life. We didn't meet in the best situation, but Miranda's qualities shown through her every action. She was beautiful, smart, graceful, everything you could want in a partner. She told enchanting stories and was the perfect listener. Looking back, I should have cherished her much, much more. Our time was so, so limited, but I knew one day I'd marry her. It was the one thing I was ever sure of. But now, she's gone. Never to be shown alive again. And it's heartwrenching. And I...I wish she didn't have to leave." Tears began to slid down my face.

"I just want to kiss her one last time but she's gone. I don't know why she left the way she did but it's sucking the life out of me. And Miranda, I just want you to know that I forgive for your actions but I'll never, ever meet anyone as great as you. I don't think I'll ever move on. Don't you think 22 was too young? You had so much potential, we, had so much potential. But maybe one day we'll be reunited. Until then, I love you and I'll never, ever stop." I stepped away from the podium and Mitch took my place.

"Hi Miranda. I'm sorry that I was a terrible brother and I'm sorry that your life consisted of one tradegy after another. I'm sorry that your life was broken beyond compare and that you couldn't live with it anymore. I'm sorry that Josh will never get to be with you again, and I'm sorry that you abandoned Delaney, Corey, and Dylan. And I'm sorry that I can't stay strong anymore thinking about it and I...I...I'm sorry."

Mitch dropped the paper with his speech onto the floor and Avi ran up to him. Avi escorted him to the bench where he burst out in load sobs. I feel so bad for him, he must've been so close with her. I can't imagine losing one of my sisters...

Scott POV

I packed necessities into my bag and left a note on the counter of Mitch's apartment. I got into my car and left Los Angeles. I doubt I'll ever come back. They won't miss me anyways.

I drove for hours until my eyes grew to tired to drive. I parked in a hotel parking lot somewhere in New Mexico. This is a good stopping point.

Mitch POV

After the funeral Kevin drove me back to my apartment. I am emotionally and mentally drained. Kirstie is staying with me over night, probably to make sure I don't commit suicide while they're gone. They don't trust me anymore.

"Um Mitch." Kirstie said from the kitchen, "You might want to see this."
"What is it?"
"Scott."
-----
Mitch/PTX,
I didn't want to leave you this way but it's not like you'll miss me anyways. The things I did were horrible but maybe one day I'll tell you the truth or my side of the story. For know, I am leaving, I don't know where I'm going but I doubt you'll ever see me again. You can always replace me in Pentatonix. I'm sure you can find someone better than me anyways. As for Miranda... I loved her. Goodbye.

-Scott
-----
"Ohmygod." I whispered.
"Everything is falling apart." Kirstie said as she sat on the couch, overly exhausted.
"Should we go after him?"
"He doesn't want to be found." She said.

And just like that Pentatonix fell apart.

Miranda POV

Kevin shut the book abruptly.
