Chapter 3: How They Met Pt. 2
*Flashback*
He looked at his boss in surprise, then they looked to the little girl in bewilderment before his boss shoved him over there towards her.
Devanne's dad said that, "I had stumbled reluctantly across the room towards them. How could my "other", be this little girl? She didn't seem at all like me in any way at all possible, but then again, he didn't know anything about her.
As he made his way over to the little girl, her parents burst in and ran to comfort her. Upon seeing him, her dad was paralyzed once he realized that he was it.
He was his daughter's soul mate.
Devanne's Grandpa Frank said that when he met Caleb that day, his first reaction was that he was a punk, but had accepted him anyway because the selections never lied, and neither did the clocks.
You couldn't cheat them.
Caleb then said, "The man had tapped the little girl on the shoulder and pointed me out to her from across the room as I was inching my way over to them."
Lindsey said, "I was confused because he was so much older and didn't look like anyone I was interested in or ever talk to, but dad made me go over there anyway."
They slowly met in the middle of the little coffee shop as the buzzing slowly receded.
Everyone was looking by now as they introduced their full names and read out their empty clocks together as they flashed, indicating that they had ran out of time.
After they embraced, they were supposed to shake hands, and if they were the right one for each other then their clock would fall off.
It was the moment of truth and Lindsey was holding her breath when the clocks finally died and fell off their wrists.
As the clocks fell downwards, they caught them and held them in the air while everyone cheered.
They had found their Soulmate.
