Helmut and Katerina went wedding shopping not long after the proposal. They wanted it done as quickly as possible now that the bombing would be happening in a week. Helmut gave her a credit card and told her to get any dress she wanted, so she did just that.

Finding her dream dress was easy. The dress fit perfectly, and there were shoes next door that she saw in the window. The ceremony would be small and simple, but that didn't mean she couldn't buy a big and pretty dress.

"Mistie!" Katerina called when she opened the flower shop. Mistie turned abruptly; the redhead smiled and ran towards the woman in a hug.

"Oh, how I've missed you! Where have you been?" Mistie asked. Katerina felt terrible for leaving her only friend in the dust, but she knew it could be dangerous. But she wanted someone to be there to witness their marriage, and both she and Helmut had no family to give her off, so she thought the woman she's known for three years should be someone who would do that for her.

"I'm getting married!" Katerina squealed. Mistie gasped and hugged her again with a squeal of her own.

"With loverboy, correct?" She giggled.

"His name is Helmut, but yes!"

"Oh my gosh, I'm so happy for you! What can I do for you?" Mistie asked. Katerina looked to the floor shyly.

"You know I have no family. And I don't make any friends here. But Helmut has no family either, and I wanted you to... witness the wedding and send me off. If you'd like to, that is." She bit her lip as she awaited her response, afraid that she'd say no.

"Of course I will, love. I'd be happy to. Did you get a dress?" Katerina sighed in relief and smiled.

"Yes. It is so pretty. I will show you later. We're going to my home country for the ceremony." Katerina gave her friend a sad, small smile. Helmut knew her well. She loved her country, and it would be a dream to get married there.

"He must really love you, Katerina," Mistie spoke happily with a soft smile.

"I really love him. And he loves me."

Helmut had them go in separate jets to the destination to see each other on the day of the wedding. It was a tradition in his family. Mistie rode with Katerina to help her prepare for the ceremony, making sure everything was just right.

"I'm so nervous," Katerina confessed, holding onto her friend's hand tightly as they flew the remains of Sokovia. They were going to the grounds of Helmuts families memorial to do the wedding. Helmut had called her to tell her that everything was already ready and that all she had to do was get dressed.

"You can do this, Katerina. Don't flake out on him." She giggled.

"I don't think I could ever leave him." She said softly. Mistie smiled down at the woman and patted her hand.

"That's good. Now, let's get you dressed." When they landed, She saw that Helmuts jet was already there and that no one was in sight. Oeznik then came out from near her jet and greeted her before leading them to an area to change. The pilot was holding her dress, and Oeznik grabbed the rest of the things. They made it to the site for her to get changed in, and Mistie did Katerina's hair and makeup, making sure everything was just right for the wife to be.

"You look beautiful, dear." Oeznik complimented as Katerina lifted herself from the chair.

"Thank you." SHe wanted to cry with joy when she saw her reflection. She felt so beautiful.

"I'll go tell everyone you are ready." With that, Oeznik left. Mistie smiled at Katerina when the music started and looped her arm with the woman's. Katerina held onto Misties arm tightly, her nerves buzzing through her body.

"You've got this." Mistie encouraged as they walked down the long path. There was half a building to their left, Helmut's old house. The music was a traditional Sokovian wedding song, and the sound made tears prick her eyes on the best day of her life.

When she saw Helmut in the distance, her breath was taken away, he was looking at the priest, but she could already see how handsome he looked. The music got louder, and when Helmut turned around, she could tell that his breath was knocked from his chest and tears came to his eyes.

The moment she reached him, Mistie smiled at Helmut before sending her off and standing to the side.

"You look... absolutely incredible." Breathed Helmut, a shudder running through his body.

"You look very handsome yourself." She breathed. He was in a very expensive black suit that fit him perfectly; his hair, slick back, and scruff were perfectly trimmed.

The priest smiled at the two and began his speech, blessing their marriage. When it was time to make their vows, Katerina and Helmut were both crying as they stared at each other.

"I- When I first saw you in that window all that time ago, I knew I wanted you to be mine. I knew I wanted to see you smile, to hear you laugh, never to see you cry, and always to make you happy. I wanted to be your everything all in that simple glace. And when you told me your name, I knew I wanted to put Zemo after it. I love you, and I always will, Katti." The nickname made her want to cry harder, but she collected herself and cleared her throat.

"I never knew my life would be like this that I would find you in my darkest days and find love within it. I always thought that after my family and our country were destroyed, I would never find happiness again. But you took that sadness and anger away. You replaced it with something beautiful, and I am eternally grateful for that. I love you, Hel, and I'd do anything for you." She whispered the last part and gripped his hands tighter. When it was time for the 'I do's,' Katerina wasn't as nervous as she was when she first stepped out of the tent she got dressed in. She was absolutely sure of one thing; she was going to be Baroness Katerina Zemo.

"You may kiss the bride." When the priest uttered those words, Helmut cradled Katerina's face in his hands and kissed her gently before Katerina leaned in further and deepened it. She heard Mistie cheer softly at the two as Helmut tipped Katerina with a laugh. When they pulled apart, they were both breathless and gasped for breath from the searing kiss.

"I love you." Katerina sighed, pushing her forehead to rest on his. Helmut smiled and kissed her nose.

"I love you, too, Baroness Katerina Zemo."

Helmut then grabbed her hand and pulled her to the side. She gave him a confused look before her eyes landed on two statues that were covered in white cloth.

"What is this?" She asked, tilting her head to the side.

"A wedding gift." Helmut snapped his fingers, and the fabric was drawn off of the two statues, showing both Helmuts family and then her family in brass. They had smiles and looked exactly like the picture she had on her nightstand back at her apartment. Katerina gasped, and fresh tears pricked her eyes.

"Oh, Hel." She cooed with a sob. Helmut threw his arms around his new wife and hugged her tightly.

"They will both now live forever." He whispered in her ear. Katerina couldn't stop as more tears fell at the gesture. How could she be so lucky?
