Katerina and Helmut had their honeymoon in his apartment in Riga, Latvia. She had never been, and they both thought the quiet country would be a perfect place for their time together before the bombing.

"I love you, Katti," Helmut spoke softly as they laid in the sheets of the master bedroom, their limbs tangled together in harmony as their naked and sweaty bodies panted with one another.

"I love you too, Hel." She smiled and reached forward to peck his lips. They felt complete together, like two missing puzzle pieces of a beautiful painting. The two never thought they would find love after their family had passed, but here they were, laying there with sweaty skin and pounding hearts.

"You know, I never thought I would ever be with royalty." Muttered Katerina. Helmut chuckled softly and held her closer to him.

"I always thought my family would marry me off to some random woman. They did it to my father. But I'm glad I was able to find you." Helmut confessed. Katerina sighed in content and closed her eyes.

"I wasn't the wealthiest back in Sokovia. We didn't have computers or a big TV. But I was happy. And now I'm even happier that I've found the love of my life." She said, a yawn breaking through her words.

"I know... but I get to spoil you now. You are a baroness after all." He said with a large smile. Katerina scoffed and gently slapped his chest.

"You spoil me now. How much worse can it get?" She laughed.

"You'll see."

The day of the bombing was stressful. Katerina had helped Helmut create the soundwave bomb with his instructions. She was getting good at technology know that she had access to the highest tech. A year and a half of being around them almost made her the best, but Helmut was always better.

"Are you sure about this?" Katerina asked as she fixed Helmut's collar to make sure it was straight. Helmut put his earpiece in for her to listen before kissing her.

"We can do this. We will watch them fall." Helmut said, hugging Katerina close and breathing in her scent. He knew this could go wrong, but he had patience and faith.

"Meet me in Moscow. I will call you. Watch for the news. We will get The Winter Soldier." Helmut told her with a nod and a faint smile. Katerina smiled and fixed her outfit; a white off-the-shoulder dress that fell above her knees and black flats.

"We can do this. I love you, Hel." She smiled, kissing him fully. She wrapped her arms around his neck, her emotions pouring out of her.

"Everything will be fine. I will see you again." With that, Helmut hopped into a car and made his way to the UN building to drop the bomb off. Katerina put in her earpiece as well and waited for his voice to come online.

A few days passed, and Katerina heard the click of his earpiece turning on.

"Hello, Mr. Barnes. I've been sent by the United Nations to evaluate you. Do you mind if I sit?" Katerina could hear ruffling before a chair squeaked. Katerina was sitting with Oeznik on the plane as they flew to Moscow.

"You're the first name is James? I'm not here to judge you. I just want to ask you a few questions. Do you know where you are, James? I cant help you if you don't talk to me, James."

"My name is Bucky." She heard. It was the Winter Soldier or James 'Bucky' Barnes. She knew a lot about him after their extensive research, but she never knew what he sounded like. It was good to add a voice to a face and name.

"Tell me, Bucky. You've seen a great deal, haven't you?" Helmut asked. Katerina loved when he spoke English, but she focused on his words and not his accented voice.

"I don't wanna talk about it." Bucky sighed.

"You fear that if you open your mouth, the horrors might never stop. Don't worry. We only have to talk about one." She heard the surge of power going out, and luckily the earpiece stayed intact, though it did give feedback. Katerina glanced at Oeznik, who smiled kindly and offered her more tea, which she gladly accepted.

"What the hell is this?" Bucky asked.

"Why don't we discuss your home. Not Romania, Certainly not Brooklyn, no. I mean your real home." Helmut started. She could hear him stand, a flashlight clicking on, and his faint footsteps.

"Longing. Rusted. Seventeen. Daybreak. Furnace. Nine. Benign. Homecoming. One. Freight car." After every word, there was a fuss from the soldier. Eventually, she could hear the whirrs and punching of his metal arm, and that fact scared her slightly. But she believed in her husband.

"Soldier?"

"Ready to comply."

"Mission Report December 16, 1991." Katerina stopped listening but kept the earpiece in her ear until he was to safety. Katerina pulled out her phone and looked at the video she recorded for a moment before she sent it to him. If things go right, he will go to a safe place before he boards a plane to Moscow, and he can watch it until they meet again. The thought made her smile.

"Help me. Help." She heard Helmut grunt and groan.

"Get up. Who are you? What do you want?" It was Steve Rogers, and she could hear a scuffle before a loud thump of Helmut hitting something behind him. It made her blood boil for a moment before she calmed herself down.

"To see an empire fall." She could hear the fighting in the distance as Helmut started to run off. His light footsteps barely being heard.

"I'm in the clear," Helmut whispered. Katerina smiled before she heard a shout of another man telling him to stop. The footsteps increased before she heard multiple screams, knowing Helmut would get lost in the crowd. Katerina stopped listening and turned off the TV to find the news anchors talking about the Winter Soldiers escape. They did it. Phase one and two complete.
