Helmut awoke Katerina with a groan. She suddenly rose from her place on the bed she was in, feeling the silk beneath her fingertips.
"What?" She asked with confusion. She looked around the room to find that it was not hers. She turned to find the man who was responsible for waking her, her brows knitted together.
"You fell asleep at the table. I brought you to my bed." Helmut explained softly. Katerina's eyes widened at his words.
"Where did you sleep?" She asked. She knew this apartment only had one room with a bed; the others had desks or bookshelves.
"On the couch." He shrugged as though it were nothing. Katerina felt bad for making him sleep on it, her feelings evident on her face.
"Don't worry; I slept very well. Especially knowing you were able to get a good night's rest." He smiled. A blush began to rise from Katerina's chest to her cheeks and finally to her ears, her skin turning bright red. Helmut chuckled when he noticed, and brought his fingers to her chin to lift it for her to look at him.
"T-thank you, Helmut." She whispered. Helmut's smile widened, letting go of her chin and walking out of the room. Katerina scrambled to follow him and found him pouring them some tea. He always did love tea in the morning.
"What are we planning on doing today?" Katerina asked as she sat down across from Helmut on the table. He smiled at her as he took a sip of the tea in his hand and sat back down at the table as well.
"Well, there's a man by the name of Vadily Kaprov. He has the Red Book and more information about the Winter Soldier that those files do not tell us. The little details that we must know." He explained.
"Will I be coming with you?" The woman asked, tilting her head to the side softly. Helmut sighed and reached to grab her hand and play with her fingers.
"Yes. You will come with me to Cleveland, and I will call you when it's time for you to come into his home. You have to be discrete. Wear a mask if you have to. The last thing I want is you getting caught. No one can know of your existence." he spoke in a tone that Katerina couldn't decipher. She smiled with a nod before placing her head in her hands as she watched Helmut drink his tea.
"Did you always have a staring problem?" He teased with a smirk. Katerina scoffed and hid her burning cheeks with her long, raven hair.
"No. Just with you." She quipped. Helmut seemed shocked by her words but didn't comment.
"We should get going. We'll be there in a few hours." Helmut said, standing from his seat by the mahogany table. The two got their things ready and made their way to the private jet. When they entered, Helmut sat across from Katerina and watched as she took out one of his books and began to read. It was in German, a language that Katerina loved to learn more about. She knew many languages, and the newest one she's learning is Russian. Helmut told her that learning as many languages as possible is the best way to be above your enemy. She wanted to be above them all.
