Katerina Volkov was respected. And she had earned it. She had mastered the art of summoning fire, with just a snap of her fingers and spark of her flint. She had made it her tool and she wielded it well. Well enough to become the best. The best that there was.

Katerina never indulged much on how she actually came to be in the Little Palace under Kirigan's shelter. She had become otkazat'sya when her family had left her at the gates of the Little Palace. She was too young to remember the conditions of how she was found but she had eventually gotten the tale out of Baghra.

Apparently, she had been only three. Left at the gates of the Little Palace to shiver away in the dead of night. Found covered by a thin blanket to shield her from the frosty winter and a single note which foretold her name.

But that was gone and done. A past she no longer lingered upon as she used to for most of her childhood, desperate to think that one day, her parents would come back for her. But those were the daydreams of a child. Now, she had everything she needed and more. She had been raised by the most powerful Grisha in existence. She had expectations to fullfil, responsibilities to carry out, and the dreams of a little girl just weren't on the roster.

But, when the mythical Sun Summoner is discovered, and General Kirigan's true plans come to light, Katerina's loyalties are put to test.

Will she side with the man who raised her and made her everything that she was, or would she side with the Saint to save the world from him.

this book will be inspired by both the netflix series and book series of shadow and bone. there might also be parallels to some other works of fiction. (i'm not sure yet.) there might be some changes made to the plot to better fit my story. some characters might seem a bit ooc but it'll all work out the same in the end. thank you trying ARSONIST'S LULLABYE out.

this book is based on the SHADOW AND BONE series by LEIGH BARDUGO and everything belongs to her except my original characters. however, this plot is my original work and plagiarism will not be tolerated. (pls don't <3, my weak heart won't be able to take it again.)

this book was literally planned within the span of two hours after i finished s&b the show and i have no idea how im gonna structure this. but, like a fool, I will be optimistic :) anyhoo, enjoy!
