Leon's POV

How can one woman make my whole universe tilt?

No, tilt is an understatement. It doesn't quite define how my universe has been changed. There is no word that can describe how my whole life has been affected.

From the moment I saw her, I knew two things.

One: she is stubborn as hell.

Two: she is the love of my life. The only woman who can make things feel better.

Harper has had her fair share of heartache and I can understand her pain and suffering. It's why we are so good together.

She doesn't see it but she challenges me as nobody has ever done before. She makes me want to be a better King.

If there's one thing, I am absolutely certain of—I don't ever want to let her go.

When I made that deal, all of those weeks ago, I never really thought about what would happen if I failed. My sole thought was to win her over.

Losing was not an option.

Now, I have her. Or at least, she's with me.

I have watched her eyes change from hate and malice to love and tenderness. Her gorgeous blue eyes light up when I'm around and that warms my heart greatly.

Before she came to me, I was an icy mess.

And now I'm melting.

What was it that snowman said from that Disney movie?

Some people are worth melting for.

I never understood it until now. Harper is worth melting—even killing—for. Without her, where will I be? If she's not with me, I don't think I can exist or function.
