Harper's POV

The next day, I wake up feeling lighter. My wolf feels considerably happier and I feel warmer—more alive.

I change into a pair of jeans and a t-shirt and make my way to the kitchen, where Agatha is preparing a cooked breakfast for the pack. Alpha Kaiden probably ordered the pack cooks to prepare a nice breakfast for Leon.

Not many people are awake right now. The few wolves that are awake send me curious glances. News of who I am has already travelled around the pack.

After my talk with Leon, I choose to hide in my room for the rest of the evening. I couldn't face everybody and look into their eyes. They knew who I was why and that I lied. I could have told them the truth, but I chose not to, fearing they would rat me out.

That night, Quinn, Lewis and Aidan all came to my door. They kept knocking, begging me to open the door. They claimed they weren't angry and that they understood but I knew better. People hated not knowing things. Friendships were built on trust and honesty.

I haven't seen Leon since he left me alone in Kaiden's office yesterday. He promised me we would spend some time today.

"Hello, dear," Agatha greets brightly. She is staring at me with interest or malice. I try my best to smile back at her. "Would you like a bacon and egg sandwich?"

I nod my head and slide into the highchair in front of the counter. I watch her gracefully dance around the kitchen, preparing my food.

She places the sandwich in front of me. My mouth waters at the sight of the delicious food and I immediately dig in. A moan passes through my lips. Agatha watches me eat her food with a satisfied glint in her eyes.

"Good, huh?" She asks, taking a cloth and starting to wipe down the counter. A few of the other cook's whiz past her, frying bacon and eggs and buttering toast.

"This is amazing," I murmur, wiping my mouth from the grease.

"So," She begins, leaning against the table. Her kind eyes lock onto mine. "How are you feeling?"
