She knew he was following her. He was getting closer and closer, sniffing the area.

Her heartbeat was frantically beating inside of her chest. She feared it would explode at any second.

How could she have been so stupid? Her mother was going to kill her if she made it out without being noticed.

Taking a deep breath, she glanced past the tree, searching for the young and handsome wolf. He was nowhere in sight.

A breath of relief escaped her lips. If he had caught her, she would have been done for. Everyone hated her kind and what they represented.

Stepping forwards, she wiped a hand down her sweaty face. Strips of her brown hair were stuck to her face. She looked a right mess.

Too caught up in her thoughts, she failed to hear someone sneaking up behind her.

It was only when she heard the faint crunch of an autumn leaf that she whirled around to face the same wolf she had been hiding from.

A sneer broke out on his handsome face, "Caught you, Vulpe."

She was done for.

This is a taste of a future book I will be writing. It will not be released for a while since I have other projects to work on but I will be writing it one day.
