This one hits close to home because I am currently writing exams.

Warnings: none, just a supportive bf :)

You sit in the living room area of your room in the Avengers compound, surrounded by textbooks and pages of notes you scrawled throughout this semester. The final season had crept its way back into your life and stress was high. The desire to bang your head against the wall in defeat seemed increasingly more productive than another minute of studying.

You had started your degree before you found yourself recruited into the Avengers. You shared that aspect with Peter Parker一 just a student trying to finish their education that just so happens to be associated with the Avengers.

In exhaustion, you sigh, almost missing the three knocks coming from the other side of the entrance door.

"The door's unlocked," you call out.

The door creeks open and there was your wonderful boyfriend, Bucky, peaking his through the crack. He greeted you with a soft smile, immediately reminding you of his charming nature. You couldn't help but return the simple greeting.

"Hey, Bucky." You ask. Anything to be distracted from studying any further.

Bucky walks into your room, glancing around at the scattered papers around your living room, "Hey, doll... what's all this?"

Your eyes make their way across the sea of notes and sigh again, "Class notes. I have a big final exam coming up and I'm really nervous about it."

Bucky furrowed his eyebrows, nodding slowly. He awkwardly stood there for a moment. You were never one to rush Bucky into speaking. Bucky was reserved and a tough shell to crack into, so you accepted that he'll open up when he's ready. There were very few people that he was willing to really talk to, so the fact that he trusted you enough to be his girlfriend was a bit of honour.

"Do you need anything? I didn't mean to interrupt or anything." He asked, eyes darting to his feet after you returned his gaze.

You let out a soft chuckle, "No, you're fine. Honestly, studying is really tiring. But I do have a few more chapters to review before I can call it quits for today."

Bucky nodded, "Oh... we'll I can just go, so I won't bother you too much-"

"No," you interrupted, followed by a small smile, "you can stay. I think the company will help me from going crazy."

Bucky cracked a small grin and nodded. He closed your room door before making his way to a chair that wasn't cover in your class notes.

Bucky seemed to enjoy the comfortable silence, and you enjoyed just being together. Steve always said that while it can be tough to get Bucky talking, he'll show that he cares in other ways. Simply being with each other was one of those ways.

Some time passes and you let out a small groan, exhausted from mindlessly trying to recall information that is just not sticking. Bucky's head turns to you, a look of concern written all over his face, "Are you okay, doll?"

Tears of frustration threatened to fall from your eyes, pricking the sides. "I'm going to quit, I can't do this anymore."

A look of worry overtook Bucky's eyes, "Y/N, don't say that. You always talk about how you want to finish this-"

"Maybe I'm just not smart enough for this..." You murmur, tears finally falling in defeat. Your hands cover your face, hoping that everything would disappear: all the stress, the work, the worry.

There were a few footsteps as you felt Bucky's presence sit by your side. Suddenly, his arms wrapped themselves around your shoulders. You let out a few sobs, but Bucky didn't rush you. You two sat there for a moment. You take a few breaths before moving your hands from your face. Your cheeks still wet from the tears, Bucky placed his hand, wiping them away and turning your face towards his. His steel blue eyes had seen so much, and yet were incredibly comforting.

After a moment, Bucky spoke, "Y/N, you are smarter than you even realize. I know this can be tough, but I've seen your beautiful mind at work. I've seen you figure things out on missions in seconds that would take a blockhead like me another lifetime to figure out."

You let out a small laugh, causing him to smile, pecking your forehead. He continued, "You're selling yourself short. You are so incredibly smart; you can't let this test get to you."

You gave a small nod, "You're right, Buck"

Suddenly, Bucky reaches for your textbook. "What are you doing?" You asked.

He began flipping through the pages, "I'm going to help you study."

You raised your eyebrows in shock, "Bucky, you could be doing anything else. I don't want to bother-"

He took your hand in his, and an instant wave of comfort washed over you, "You're never a bother to me, doll." Bucky leaned into your lips, kissing you softly. The kiss was reassuring, a confirmation that Bucky meant everything that he said and more.

You broke the kiss, despite your instincts desiring more, "I still have to study, Buck."

He sighed with a smile, "Well, teach me what you know, Professor Y/N."

With a small laugh, you stood up and began to lecture everything you could remember, with some prompting from Bucky when you drew blanks. After a couple of hours, you managed to get through the information, even answering any of Bucky's genuine questions about the material.

"And that's the last chapter一 finally!" You let out a sigh of relief as you began to pick up your notes.

Bucky chuckled. He stood up and snaked his metal arm around your waist and pecking a kiss on your temple, "I have no doubt you're going to ace this, my love."

"Only because I had the best study buddy," you replied, placing a kiss on his lips.
