A/N: hey besties! So this is a series of shorter imagines that I wanted to share but would've been far too short if I posted them on their own.

You nibbled at the end of your pen as your eyes were fixed on the computer screen in front of you. You often made it a rule to never bring work home because that was really the only time you had to spend with Bucky, but this final project was kicking your ass. But Bucky had been very understanding since you got home, checking in every now and again to see if you needed anything. You made a mental note to thank him indefinitely for his kindness once this was done.

You sat at the dining room table, papers chaotically scattered around you. Bucky had just started getting dinner together when you had just about finished your work. You glanced over to your wonderful boyfriend standing in the kitchen, full focus on a pepper he was cutting. You smile to yourself as you return your attention back to the computer screen in front of you.

You were making some final adjustments when all of a sudden, the sound of a camera clicking broke your focus. Your attention lead you towards the sound, and there stood Bucky, fumbling with his phone, trying to turn off the ringer.

"Did you just take a picture of me?" you grinned. Bucky's face turned a bright red, realizing that he had been caught.

"I... erm," Bucky stuttered, "I thought you looked cute, so I-"

"You took a picture of me."

Bucky silently nodded, embarrassment written across his face. You stood up from your seat and walked over to him, "You know, if the circumstances were different, that would be very creepy."

You then took his phone from his hand and opened the camera app. You pulled him close and Bucky gave you a look of confusion, "What are you doing doll?"

"We," you began, "are taking a picture together."

Brightly lit candles decorated the cake that was placed in front of you. You smile as you scanned around the room as a chorus of Avengers sang happy birthday to you, awfully, you may add.

When the song was over, you bowed playfully, "I didn't realize the heroes of the universe couldn't carry a tune to save their lives."

"Hey! We weren't that bad," Clint defended.

"Besides, 'Happy Birthday' isn't meant to be sung seriously," Natasha joked, before giving you a hug and wishing you a happy birthday again.

Wanda began cutting the cake and handing out pieces to the team. You smiled as your friends returned to their respective conversations. You began searching around the room for Bucky amongst the group. You frowned when you couldn't find him.

"He's out on the balcony," Steve said, breaking your train of thought.

You smiled at Steve, thanking him before taking a piece of cake for Bucky and heading towards the balcony.

Bucky sat in a chair, facing toward the skyline. His back was facing you as you stepped into the evening breeze.

"I brought you some cake," you spoke, causing Bucky to turn around quickly. His shoulders relaxed at the sight of you and offered you a smile. Even in those small actions, you couldn't help but blush.

You closed the door and walked over to his side. "Thank you, doll," Bucky said warmly, kissing your forehead.

He promptly began to dig into the piece of cake, causing your smile to grow wider. In the small moments, you got glimpses of Bucky from the 40s Steve would tell you about. He was a charmer now, so you couldn't imagine the lady's man he would've been then.

Bucky chuckled, "You're staring, doll."

You blinked, your face growing warmer. Bucky noticed your reaction and chuckled, "It's nice to know that I still have that effect on you."

"Cocky as ever, James," you teased, rolling your eyes.

He suddenly set his plate down and pulled you into his lap. Bucky brushed a stray hair out of your face, locking into your gaze. "What's on your mind, doll?"

You threw your arms around his neck and smiled blissfully, "I'm just grateful that you're here. I know you're not a big fan of crowds or parties."

"Doll, I wasn't going to miss out on your birthday party. You're the love of my life."

You closed the gap between your face and his, kissing his lips. The sun, still warm against the side of your face, slowly made its way into the horizon.

"Hey! No canoodling out there!" Tony exclaimed from the other side of the compound door.

You had been hard at work all day on a project for work when you heard the voice of your boyfriend, looking around your shared home for you. "I'm in the office, Bucky," you respond.

Bucky's head popped through the doorway, his lopped-sided grin charming as ever. "How can I help you," you asked.

"I was just wondering if I could use your phone," Bucky started, his warm smile not leaving his face, "my phone is dead and I need to call Steve about a mission that's coming up."

You nodded and handed your phone over to him after unlocking it. He muttered a thank you, kissing your temple before beginning to walk back towards the hallway. Suddenly, you heard him stop in his tracks.

"Doll, what's this? The picture, I mean." Bucky questioned, turning towards you again.

You turn to face Bucky who had a dopey smile on his face. He faced your phone screen towards you, displaying your background: a picture you had taken together during one of your dates. That was months ago, but the moment was fresh in your mind every time you opened your phone.

You smiled, "That was the night you asked me to be your girlfriend."

He turned the phone screen back towards himself, smile growing even wider. "It's weird. At that moment, I thought I couldn't love you any more than I did that night. But looking back, you always give me more reasons to fall in love with you."

You could've sworn you swooned at his beautiful words. "You're so cheesy."

Bucky chuckled, walking back over to you. He knelt next to your office chair and cupped the side of your face, "I still need to call Steve, but when I'm done, we're gonna take a new picture for your phone."

You leaned in, kissing his lips. "I look forward to it."

The morning light crept into your shared bedroom between the blinds. Typically Bucky was the early riser, but as you wiped the sleep from your eyes, you noticed there he was sleeping peacefully next to you.

You brushed a stray hair on his face to the side, admiring his features while he slept. Bucky didn't typically get a lot of sleep, so the nights that he could finally rest, you did everything you could to not wake him.

"Remember that time you said it'd be creepy if the circumstances were different?" Bucky's voice broke the early morning silence.

You jumped back, frightened slightly by his voice. Bucky chuckled at your reaction and pulled you back in. You shoved him playfully before returning the embrace.

"You scared me, Buck."

Bucky poked your side, "Well, I'm not the one staring at someone while they're sleeping."

You laughed, "Well, I could've taken pictures. That would've been way creepier."

Bucky chuckled, rolling himself on top of you. Instinctively, your hands found their way into his hair, returning his charming smile. You noticed his eyes moving across different spots on your face.

"What's on your mind, Sergeant?" you inquired, catching his gaze.

He shook his head, grinning to himself, "Just thinking that I really lucked out having you as my girlfriend."

"I bet you said that to every girl you took out on a date back in the day," you joked

Bucky playfully pretended to think back, earning a joking scoff from you. He erupted into laughter, "I'm just playing, doll. No one has had my heart the way you do now."
