"Hey Mon? Are these cooked yet?"

He walked over to her, the TV on quietly on in the background. With Mon-el's instructions, Kara was trying to cook bacon. "Almost, just another couple of minutes."

He walked back over to the island. They were cooking bacon, as that was Kara's favourite food, with eggy bread. Which Mon-el was making by soaking bread in egg then frying it.

Mon-el put the toast in the same frying pan as the bacon. "Considering this is like the first thing I've cooked, I'm surprised you've trusted me with both." She said laughing.

"Experience is the best teacher." Mon-el said with a serious look on his face. Kara just burst into laughter.
"Since when are you philosophical?" She said.
"Since I was Cat Grant's assistant." He said laughing.

"Oh, by the way, I was reading up on the articles you've published and they're are really interesting, definitely helping me see into how this world works."

"I'm glad someone likes them."
"Hm?"
"My boss isn't really a fan of my writing, I think he thinks that I just got this job because I was Cat's assistant."
"I've seen how hard you work and you definitely deserve to be a j-jour, what's the word?"
"Journalist."
"That's the word!" Kara said laughing.

Mon-el walked over and put his arms around her shoulders. "You're so adorable."

"Awww thank you." Kara turned her head and kissed him. "And you're cute." She rubbed her nose against his.

"What's that smell?" Asked Mon-el.

"OH RAO! The bacon!" Kara quickly turned the bacon over, it was black. Mon-el started to laugh.

"I don't know why you're laughing. You have to eat it."
"I know that, but it's still funny."

Kara smiled, grabbed a plate and served up the toast then put the bacon on top.

"Breakfast is ready!" Kara proclaimed. Mon-el looked at his watch.
"It's more like brunch."
"Brunch? What's that?"
"It's when you have food in between lunch and breakfast."
"Ah ok, let's eat!"

They picked up the plates, sat down at the table and started to eat.

"This it really good!" Said Kara.
"Really?" Said Mon-el.
"Yes! What is it? You look, like you don't believe me."
"You know you get this crinkle, up here when you lie." Mon-el pointed at his forehead.
"I do not-I don't have a crinkle!"
"Crinkle!" He pointed at her forehead. Kara rolled her eyes.
"Aww, don't worry." He lent over and kissed her.

"You are definitely a better instructor than YouTube by the way." Said Kara.
"I think that's the nicest thing anyone has ever said to me." Mon-el said sarcastically with a hand on his heart.

"Honestly though, YouTube and the internet are, I would say, the weirdest thing humans have invented. Very helpful sometimes, but still werid." Said Kara.
"Honestly, looking back at history, I'm surprised humans have survived this long." Mon-el said, laughing.

There was a moment of silence. "So any word from your parents?"
"Nope, just hovering up there in orbit. Is that what they mean by helicopter parenting?" Kara questioned.

"Oh shoot." Said Mon-el.
"What is it?" Kara asked. Mon-el pointed at the TV, some alien was rampaging though downtown.

"Laser eye patch, that's new." Said Kara, taking a sip of her tea.
"A superhero's work is never done." Mon-el sighed. He got up and went over to the bedroom and used his super speed to change into his Superman outfit.

"You are so fast." Kara said, laughing.
"I'll be back soon." He kissed Kara.
"I'll get started on the washing up!" Kara shouted as Mon-el flew out the window.

*At the DEO*

"Remember that alien you fought this morning?" Asked John.
"The laser dude? Yes of course, why?" Asked Mon-el.

"Well when the DEO was processing 'the laser dude' we found this..." John placed a small circular device on the table of the control room. An image of Superman appeared.

"Hey that's me!" Said Mon-el.
"What is it?" Asked Alex.
"We're not sure..." said John. Winn picked up the device and started to fiddle with it, the was a click sound and the device made a beeping noise, Winn hastily put it down.

"Name: Mon-el, last son of Krypton. Location: National City, USA, Planet Earth. Reward: 300 quartz crowns." the device said.

"Why dose that sound like a bounty?" Asked Alex.
"That because I think it is." Said John.

"How much is 300 quartz crowns?"
"Enough to buy a planet." Said Kara.
"Why would someone place a bounty on you?" Said John.

"Um... there are many people that could be on that list." Mon-el said.

"For that sort of money, every bounty Hunter is gonna try and take a shot." Said John.
"That's fine, I can take them!"

"Not that I doubt you, but a bunch of street fights doesn't seem like a good way to ensure public safety." Said Alex.
"You should stay out of sight for a couple of days." John said.

"I'm not gonna run and hide, that's not what Superman dose!" Mon-el protested.

"Mon I think they have a point, having a bounty on your head is just gonna get any and all hunters coming after you. And I don't want to lose you, that would not be, um, palatable." Said Kara.

"That's a very culinary way to put it." Said Winn.
"I cook now!" Kara said, proudly.

"Anyway, please Mon-el, as the people that care for you, just lay low for the next couple of days." Said John.

"Fine." Mon-el sighed.

"You stay out of sight and we'll try and figure out how to get ahead of this." Said John.

"I'll figure out a way to trace if there is any of these near by." Said Winn picking up the device.
