Karamel: Complicated {Part One}

29 • Potstickers

"Hey, I got takeout." Mon-el said as he walked into his apartment. Kara lifted her head up, she was laying down with a blanket on the sofa. She said nothing and rested her head back down.

Mon-el walked over to her and crouched down next to her. "You ok?" He asked. She shook her head. Mon-el stood up and sat on the sofa and opened his arm towards her. Kara sat up, moved over to him and rested her head on his shoulder. "I miss them, I know it's only been a couple of days but-" Kara stopped because she was about to cry.

"Hey, it's ok." He stroked her hair. "Their your family, it's perfectly ok to miss them. I know it's gonna be hard but in the long run it will be alright."
"Thank you." Kara whispered.

"Listen, I'm always gonna be here for you, I promise. I know this isn't an easy thing to go though. I've been though the same thing."

Kara sat up. "My parents aren't dead Mon-el! I just don't think I will ever get to see them again!" She gasped as soon as she finished speaking. "Oh Rao! Mon I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to..." Kara looked away from him.

"Kara it's alright, I'm sorry, that wasn't the right thing for me to say."

Kara look back at him. "I just really didn't think I was gonna see you again."
"Me too. But not for long cause I knew I couldn't let that happen." Said Mon-el. Kara smiled.

"I'm sorry I forced you to talk to your mum. I should of listened to you. I was wrong." Continued Mon-el.

"No, you believed that people can change and you give them a chance to do it. I mean look at my dad, he changed, he understood how happy I am on earth and how important it is to me and let me stay. So you were right to be hopeful. In fact everyone should be a bit more like you. I mean you have so mush courage in you it's amazing. And your so optimistic and brave."

"Your brave too!" Said Mon-el.
"Only because I ask myself, what would you do. And it's terrifying every time." They both laughed.

Mon-el put his hand on hers and smiled. "You do it everyday and it always amazes me. You make it look so easy as well." Said Kara.

"Thank you and also thank you for saving me from your mother."
"We saved each other. Just like Romeo and Juliet." Kara said, with a goofy smile on her face.
"You need to finish it! Please finish it! You need to-" Mon-el was stopped by Kara passionately kissing him.

She pulled away. "I love you Mon." The biggest smiled appeared on Kara's face as she said it. Mon-el's face lit up.
"I love you too comets."

They leaned towards each other and put their foreheads together. They sat there for a moment, then Mon-el put his hand on the side of Kara's face and pulled her in for a kiss. Kara put one hand on top of Mon-el's and the other on the back of his head.

Mon-el pulled away. "As much I would love to continue doing that, we need to eat the food before it goes cold."

Kara smiled. "Fine." She said rolling her eyes. "What did you get?"
"Potstickers, fried rice and dumplings."
"Hmm, I've eaten those, except potstickers, what are they?" Kara asked.
"They're rolled up steam-fried dumplings, with pork and vegetables in it." Said Mon-el.
"Sounds good, I'm gonna try one." Kara pick up one and took a bite. "Oh wow!! These are amazing!" She said, then took another bite. "This is now my favourite food!"

Mon-el laughed a little. "You're so adorable."
"Aww thanks Mon." Kara smiled.

Mon-el put some food on a plate and sat back into the sofa. "I was wondering  if you wanted to go with me, to this gala I'm invited to next week?"

"Yeah, that sounds cool. What's it's for? Cause you know, most gala's are for something." Kara answered.

"This company is renaming itself and wanted to make a kinda big thing about it, so the invited me, cause I work for CatCo, to come along and on the invitation it said I could bring a plus one, so I thought you would enjoy it."
"Yeah. I did go to a lot of gala's on Daxam, so I can't wait."

"So what do you want to watch?" Asked Mon-el.
"I don't know, Winn mentioned something to me about a tv show called The Office. How about that?" Kara asked.
"Sounds good. I have seen about half of it and I'm gonna warn you now, the first two seasons aren't the best."

Kara laughed. "Ok but I still wanna watch it." She settled down into Mon-el's arms. They sat together happily and watch TV for the rest of the evening.
