Karamel: Complicated {Part One}

Kara walk into a fancy restaurant Lena had invited her too. She spotted Lena over in the corner, she walked over and sat down.

"Hi." Said Kara.
"Hey, I'm glad you made it." Replied Lena.
"Of course, I was looking forward to meeting you again after the gala."
"Same here."

"So how has things at L-Corp been going?" Asked Kara.
"Really well actually. There was a lot of good publicity from the gala event, Mike's piece for CatCo really helped."
Explained Lena.
"Good, I'll make sure to tell him that, he definitely has a nack for writing."

"How did you meet Mike?" Asked Lena.
"We met at um a bar 4 months ago and about 2 months later we started dating. And it's been good since."
"That sounds really nice. I'd love to have a relationship but right now I'm very busy with L-Corp."
"That's fine, as long as you know what you want I'm sure you'll find it one day." Kara said with a smile.
"Thank you, that's very supportive of you."

Kara looked away from Lena. "Yeah, I've learnt that people need to be supported or it will just hurt people."
"Yeah I can understand that, you know with my family and all." Lena said.

"What do you mean by your family?" Kara asked.
"Do you not know about the Luthors?"
"Um nope, I don't really keep up with the news."

"I might as well tell you, I lived with my mother till she died when I was 6, then my father, Lionel Luthor, took me in. His wife, didn't like me and was never nice to me. Me and my half-brother Lex became close, I actually had quite a nice childhood. Later in life, my brother inherited my fathers company, which is now mine, somehow he ended up working with Superwoman and I think they became quite good friends. However something happened and Lex turned against her, he um then hurt quite a lot of people and ended up in jail. Sorry that's a lot, I bet your family isn't this messed up." Explained Lena.

Kara laughter a little to herself. "Mine is quite complicated as well. Don't worry."
"Really? If you don't mind me asked if but what happened?" Asked Lena.
"No it's fine, you told me everything, I might as well tell you mine." Replied Kara. "So , I grew up in quite a privilege family, I was very educated as a child. I had a lot of opportunities, my father made sure I was well taught in all sorts of things. But when I was around 16 my mother turned on me, she um would hit me and wasn't nice to me. But Mike actually helped me get away from her and start a new life."

"That's very lucky you have him." Said Lena.
"I know, sorry I keep being him up."
"It's fine." Lena said, laughing. "It's nice to know someone has gone though similar things with their parents."
"Same here. I always feel a bit guilty when talking to Mike about it because he had a lovely and kind family." Kara said, quietly.
"You can always talk to me if you ever need to."

"Thank you." Kara said, with a smile. "You definitely seem nicer than your family." She continued.
"I'm not like my family, I wanna be different, I wanna be good you know?" Stated Lena.
"Again, I really do understand that." Responded Kara. Lena smiled.

They spent the rest of the afternoon talking, hanging out and having a good time.

"KARRRA I'M HOME!" Mon-el shouted as he walked though the door of his apartment. There was no reply. "Kara?" Mon-el looked around, he couldn't see her. He walked over to the bedroom area and saw she was curled up, sound asleep on his bed. Mon-el smiled, she looked so peaceful.

"I'll come back later." Mon-el walked out the apartment to go get some takeout.

A little while later Mon-el walked quietly back into the apartment and set some takeout bags down on the kitchen counter. He cautiously walked round into the bedroom expecting to find Kara still asleep. She was actually sitting up, cross legged, reading.

"Hi." Said Mon-el. Kara turned round.
"Hi, how was your day?"
"Good. How was yours?" He came and sat down next to her.
"It was really nice, I went to lunch with Lena."
"Cool, it sounds like you guys are really hitting it off."
"Yeah, we have both been though a lot of similar things." She said. Mon-el put his arm round her and kiss her.

"Anyway, what are you reading?" Asked Mon-el.
"Romeo and Juliet, I'm almost finished, I literally have a couple of pages left." Kara said.
"Cool. I got takeout by the way. Wanna eat it before it gets cold?" He asked.
"Yes of course i do. What did you get?"
"Potstickers."
"Thank you! My favourite!" Kara smiled and kissed him on the cheek. Mon-el got up and walked towards the kitchen. Kara went to put her book down on the bedside table and noticed something interesting. She picked it up and walked round to Mon-el.

"What's this?" She asked, holding out a bit of paper. Mon-el turned around and took the bit of paper out of her hand. It read:

"We should go! It would be so sweet to see them get married." Said Kara. Mon-el smiled.
"Yeah we should. It's not for another month though."
"Oh, I'm sure it will be worth the wait."

"Yeah, I can't wait for you to meet everyone else."
"Everyone else?" Asked Kara.
"Oh yeah, there is more superhero people like me and Barry, we kinda know each other cause of past events. You'll love them."
"Cool, I can't wait to meet everyone. And see another earth, that would be so amazing!" Said Kara.

Surprise!! I decided to change the sequence of events from the show, so Kara and Mon-el both go to the wedding. ☺️
