"You're perfect."
Knight's words make my insides turn to mush and my stomach do a double back hand spring. Since when did I become one of those girls who completely falls apart at a compliment from a hot guy?
Not just a hot guy. Knight! my inner voice says. She's right, that little bitch, it's him who does this to me and I'd be lying if I said I hated it. I look down and smile at my choice in clothes. Guess this was the right thing to go with. A simple black formfitting dress that hug all of my curves with thigh high black leather high heeled boots-because he wasn't going to let me live it down if I didn't wear the damn heels- and a black leather jacket. My hair is down in loose curls as per Knight's request paired with my moms black moon choker, dark red lipstick and black mascara and eyeliner to make my blue eyes pop.
"You're not too shabby yourself." My eyes rake over his body slowly, taking in everything he's giving me. Starting from his black timberland boots I drag my eyes up to his dark jeans that hug his trimmed waist perfectly. I can't help but bite my lip at the dark gray buttoned down shirt that's tucked into his jeans helping show off his gorgeously buff body. When I reach the top button and see that it's left undone a small smirk turns the corners of my lips. Knight also rolled up his sleeves giving me the perfect sight of his tattoos. His luscious hair is gelled off to the side and I want to kiss him so bad for putting in so much effort.
With a low, husky laugh he asks, "You done checking me out now?"
"Not quiet." I smile and motion for him to turn around. After a chuckle he gives me what I want- the perfect view of his toned plump ass. This guy should be on the cover of a punk rock GQ magazine. Hot damn. I cross my legs in an attempt to ease the ache but it does nothing. When Knight turns back around he shakes his head before putting out his arm for me to take.
"Come on, we got places to be."
"Ever the gentleman."
"You know it, babe."
Knight opens my door, helping me into the car and then we're off. My heart is racing a mile a minute at the anticipation of what we're doing and I can't hold off from asking, "So, where are we going?"
He laughs at my impatience before grabbing my thigh and squeezing lightly. "Stop stressing. You'll see when we get there. Dinner is first."
"First? So we're doing more than one thing?"
Knight looks over at me for a split second and smiles. "Yup."
That's all I get for the rest of the drive.
...
We showed up at a pizzeria about twenty minutes later to my surprise. Knight just simply laughed at my open mouth when he had pulled into a spot. I ripped into him when we sat down demanding to know why I had to get dressed up to go to such a simply place but all he said was, "Because you deserve to get dressed up no matter where we go. Plus, it was for my own benefit and I know you well enough to know you would have hated going somewhere fancy."
I simply rolled my eyes at that because he was right about me hating going anywhere fancy. I always felt out of place. My style never fit. I never fit.
We ate our mouth watering pizza, talked about everything that had happened in our years apart, laughed and then we were off again. Another twenty minutes later and we're now sitting in front of a tattoo shop. I laugh as Knight opens my door.
"What in the fuck are we doing here?"
"Damn, you can never just go with the flow, huh?"
I punch him in the arm as we walk through the doors. He rubs at the sore spot, "What does it look like we're doing?"
"Are you getting a tattoo?"
"We're getting tattoos."
I almost choke on my own saliva. "I'm sorry. What?"
He laughs. "You still want one don't you?"
"Yeah. Always."
"Okay, so...," he gestures to the wall of tattoos. "What are you scared?"
My eyes narrow at him. "No, asshole. I already have two tattoos."
His mouth falls open and I have to swallow down a laugh. "What!? Where?!" Knight starts circling me and looking my body up and down as if he somehow has x-ray vision and can find the tattoos all of a sudden. I shake my head and laugh at this idiot.
"I have one between my fingers and one on the back of my neck." I lift up my hair so he can see the moon and star tattoo hidden by my hair before separating my pointer and middle so he can see the gear shift tattoo. The same one my dad has.
"Holy shit, how did I never notice these before?"
"Maybe because you were too busy with other things." I quirk an eyebrow at him before making my way over to the wall to look at some choices. "Are you paying?" I ask over my shoulder which only makes him laugh.
"Yes, I'm paying."
"Are you getting one?"
"Of course!"
"What are you getting?"
Knight just simply smiles at me as if that tells me everything I need to know. I stare at him long and hard for a moment before I get startled by a voice. "Knight! What's up, man?"
The tattoo artist comes over and gives Knight some sort of handshake, back pat thing. "What are you getting done today?"
"Hey, Mike. I think I'm gonna go with that thing I sent you a picture of last week."
"Aiight. Sounds good. Who's your friend?"
Knight places a hand on the small of my back before introducing me. "Mike this is Skye. Skye, Mike." He gestures back and forth between us but the minute my name comes out of his mouth Mike's eyes seem to widen a bit. I turn narrowed eyes to Knight.
"Seems like you've been talking about me some, huh?"
"Boy has he ever." Mike supplies. I tilt my head at Knight waiting for him to fill in the blanks but he never does. He simply just guides me to the back before sitting down in the chair for Mike to get to work. I think about my choices and what it is exactly that I want on my body but then I look at Knight and know exactly what I'm getting. I look around for another tattoo artist, not wanting to wait, and find a girl cleaning down her station. I head over to her and ask if she's available.
"You know what you want?"
"Yeah." I glance over at Knight who's talking away with Mike before turning my attention back to lady. I tell her what I want and smile as she gets to work.
