Lance was silently running through the planet's thick forests, tripping over every root, and getting hit by unseen branches. All the while stumbling and wincing at every step as pain shot through his leg.
The large creature behind him only drew closer and closer, never wavering. It was almost floating over the forest floor.
Suddenly, Lance stopped. There was a deep, sheering cliff in front of him, and he couldn't see anything below. There was no going forward now.
The shadow still didn't stumble or slow down, however. As it drew closer to the cliff, the starlight from overhead illuminated its many faces.
It stopped.
The planet rumbled with several laughs, Allura, Pidge and Shiro sneered down at him, their faces twisted in delight.
"Oh, Lancey-Lance." Pidge cooed, "Did you ever think we wouldn't find you?"
"Oh, poor Blue Paladin." Allura's face contorted with rage, "Poor, WEAK BLUE PALADIN."
Shiro shook his head, "See, he's not even worth chasing after. Tsk- look at that wound." he sighed "I guess we'll have to replace it. Just. Like. Mine." he took out a horrible looking machine and laughed.
Lance tried to calm down, pay attention to his breathing, but it wouldn't work. He was shivering, and no forest scenery would be able to save him from this.
Just then the fourth face leaned down out of the darkness, cocking its head.
"Hey, buddy." Keith's smile was the worst of all, and he was hurt. All because of him.
Lance retreated, crawling backwards until he felt the edge of the dirt.
"No."
Lance shrieked, sitting up instantly. He was in his hut, safe, sound, and away from them.
They'll never find me here, they'll never find me here. He repeated the phrase to himself until his breathing slowed down, and he looked at his leg. Some twig had reopened the wound.
His forehead was scolding, so Lance took a trip to the lake and set a torch into the sand.
Never a bad time to go to the water. He thought I could use some waves.
He sat down on the bank and let the night air soothe him and blow through his hair, airing out his thoughts and his skin.
The stars were especially bright today, and Lance could even see the milky way, all the way out there, reduced to a tiny speck in the distance.
"Welp, going back to the hut now would seem like a waste." Lance smiled at the sky, "I think I'll sleep here tonight."
