Lance woke up the next morning covered in a cold sweat with his blanket on him. Strange, he didn't remember falling asleep with one...ah well.
He rolled out of bed and applied foundation to cover his eye bags and scars. A particularly long gash stood out to him, that was when Shiro had slapped him after training, with his galra arm.
"WHY CAN'T YOU JUST BE LIKE THE REST OF US."
No use remembering that now. Lance thought, and quickly brushed the memory aside, mustering up a quivering smile in the mirror.
After setting the makeup, Lance decided to stroll by the kitchen to see if his appetite had appeared, and strangely enough, he didn't see anyone. Even Hunk wasn't in the kitchen, humming his usual tune.
Lance checked the training deck, the bridge, and even the lab, no one.
That left one possible room. The team was having a meeting without him in the great hall. The only room in the castle with a passcode, that everyone had neglected to tell him.
Lance's brain erupted, analyzing every mistake he made in the past battle. His speed was awful yesterday, and maybe they finally decided to kick him off the team. How could he leave Blue, the mice, Coran? He certainly thought about leaving, but never this soon. Arghhhh! Just be quiet and knock on the door, Lance!! He gripped his head, Get yourself together, useless!
The Blue Paladin almost bashed his forehead against the wall, but stopped. The team's in there. It'll disturb them.
He regained his composure, smoothed off his shirt and hair, and finally, Lance knocked on the door.
A few shaky moments later, the entrance slid open, revealing a sleek alien standing in front of him. They had pale skin with rose details and strange animal-like ears. Their hair was red and bushy, and it had pink strands. Lance wasn't sure he learned about this species, but something about it seemed familiar. One thing was for certain though, this wasn't anyone Lance had ever met.
This was a total stranger.
(I'm SO sorry for the short chapter, but I'm trying to create out of nothing, currently. I just couldn't think of anything else to add, but chapter 4 will come out much sooner.)
(Also, thanks loads for the views! I'm so grateful for all of you, and I hope my story can live up to your expectations!)
