Xiao Zhan's POV

"Like a new man can take on anything." His breathless smile made me feel dizzy, Yibo suddenly pulled me into an embrace, "thank you, Zhan."

I can't form a single reply when I see the warmest smile he's ever given, he leaned his forehead against mine, "you really are something." I shut my eyes tightly as his face inched even closer, but the sounds of children laughing made us pull away awkwardly.

"I-I guess we better head back now."

"Y-Yeah, let's go," I said, quietly following behind him, my mind is blank with only one question, 'Was he going to kiss me . . . ?'

After spending a good amount of time at the beach, we make our way back to Yibo's car, "thank you so much for bringing me here, Yibo. That's one wish off my bucket list!"

I smiled shyly at his gentle gaze, ahh! Someone remind me how to breathe, "in that case, I hope we can do this again in the future, just tell me if you want to go to any new places, I'll take you anywhere."

"That sounds so great, thank you so much, Yibo!" I tried my best to smile, but my heart instantly sinks.

I'm so sorry, Yibo . . . I wish I could.

Out of nowhere, the sky started to darken and a few droplets of rain fell on my head, "damn it! Quick, it's about to rain soon!" Yibo grabbed my hand and we ran towards the car.

We were not fast enough and the rain started pouring, both of us were completely drenched by the time we were in the car, "I guess running didn't make a big difference." I laughed.

"Haha, it looks like we just got out of the ocean. Achoo!" Yibo shook his head.

"That s not good, let's get you home quickly before you get sick." I looked at him, "u-urm . . . I don't think that's a good idea." I pointed out how strong the wind was blowing nearby the trees.

"Hmm . . . Looks like we're stuck in a storm, but I don't want you to get sick . . ." I felt touched by his concern, "I'll be fine, it's just a bit cold." He frowned.

"Alright, but tell me right away if you feel unwell."

"Haha, stop worrying, I'm way stronger than you think." Yibo's gaze softened, "I know but that doesn't mean I'll stop worrying." The warm, caring smile was terrible for my heart, I decided to quickly change the subject.

"So, since we have some time now, mind if I interview the famous actor, Wang Yibo?"

He laughed, "go on ahead, but it just stays between us, alright?" He arched his eyebrow and holds up a pinky, I wrapped mine around, "have I ever broken any promises so far?"

"I guess not, so what's your first question, Ms Reporter?" I hid back a giggle before answering, "how did you become an actor?"

"It started when I was the lead in a school play, my teacher said I had a knack for it and introduced me to a talent scout. By the time I graduated high school, I started pursuing the career in earnest."

"Wow! You're so talented Yibo! But what made you fall in love with acting?"

"Hmm . . . I guess the prospect of being someone else, you already know the kind of environment I grew up in. The acting was a form of escapism for me . . . But it became a cage in the end." I could see a sliver of hope in his downcasted eyes.

"But you're out of that cage now, right?" His eyes sparkled, "yes, and I've been offered some new roles already. Roles that are different from the ones I'm usually typecasted into."

"really? That's awesome! What role will you be playing next?"

"I'm still indecisive about it . . . One is about an android that learns to be human while another is a psychopath that plays mind games with a detective."

"Wow, both sound really interesting and different than what you usually do indeed!"

"Exactly why I am having trouble choosing . . . Which one do you prefer?"

"U-uhm . . . You've never played a villain before, won't this be a good chance?"

"I am considering it, but my fans might hate me . . ." I laughed.

"But that's the whole point of being a villain, besides, people would be more impressed if you can pull off a character like that." He nodded, "that's actually a good insight, thank you so much, Zhan!"

"Ehehe, I am glad I can be of assistance." He nodded, his finger ticking against the steering wheel, "I'm impressed, you'd make a pretty good manager."

I grinned, "Hmm? Just a manager?" I teased him to distract from my growing blush, but Yibo only leaned closer to the passenger side seat. His lips curled into a suggestive smile.

"I might have thought of something else, too." The close his face inched forwards, the more nervous I became." I pushed aside my nervousness and smiled coyly.

"What are you thinking of exactly . . . ?"

"You tell me first," he said, and I saw an indecent glint as he eyes my teasing lips.

It was getting harder to speak without stuttering words, "I-I was just kidding! I'm not thinking of anything else. I-I swear . . .!" I could hear my heart hammering in my ears, his hand played with a few strands of my hair.

"I don't think you're being honest with me, if you're not thinking of anything, then why are you getting nervous? You sound like you can hardly catch your breath, ZhanZhan." I tightly gripped my seat.

His teasing smile deepened into a seductive smirk  "my, my, what a naughty boy you are for having such thoughts about your boss, huh . . ." His voice dropped to a low, sexy growl, but I steeled myself for a comeback.

"Oh, really? Then what kind of a boss asks his  employee out on a date?" This time, it was my turn to give him a challenging smirk.

Two can play at this game!

Yibo chuckled low, his face inches closer, almost so close that our nose would collide, and his breath was fanning  on my cheek as he spoke up, "I have to blame you for that, it's hard being a good boss whenever you're around . . ."

"I don't remember doing anything to attract your attention." He titled his head to the side and sighed, I could feel his hot breath once again against my cheek.

"That's part of the problem, I guess." My heart did a backflip as he suddenly leaned close to whisper in my ear, "you're a horrible distraction." When he pulled back, I only stared blankly at his sexy smile.

"You're distracting me without even trying, imagine how hard it is for me to hold back whenever we're alone like this." Even though my heart was pounding painfully, I somehow managed to speak.

"Am I distracting you right now . . . ?" Yibo eyed me hungrily.

"Yes, and I want to be your distraction too . . ." His whispers sounded so smooth just like his lips landing gently on mine . . .
