If there was one thing Sivaangi loved doing, it was sleeping. She was tucked away in the warm blankets, legs spread like an eagle. She was in the middle of a beautiful dream, where she was surrounded by foods of all type. Just as a glazed donut was supposed to enter her mouth, her phone rang jerking her awake.

Clicking her tounge in annoyance, she saw who it was. It was none other than her brother, Pugazh. Rolling her tired eyes she answered it. "Papa?" he said, she could hear bustling noises on the other side. She made an indistinct noise as an answer.

"Thoonginthiya?"

"Kalaila 7 maniku ellarum thoongitu than irupanga"

She could hear his embarrassment through the phone and she suppressed a smile.

"Seri, nee eppo set ku vara?" he asked. She vaguely remembered that today was supposed to be the grand lunch of Super Singer Season 8 and it was to be aired for 9 hours, which would mean they would be recording for atleast 2 days. Sighing, she got out of her bed.

"Innu oru 2 hours la vanthurven na." She replied.

"Seekaram vaa na romba busy, unnaku theriyadhu"

"Ama ivaru 5 Eiffel tower kata poraru, vettiya kadala thana podra"

"Mathichu onna kooptadhu en thappu." Her brother said, feigning annoyance. She laughed and said she'll be there soon.

She walked into her bathroom and scratched her head sleepily, staring at her reflection in the mirror.

She wasn't the most excited about today. She loved SS, but she had some bad memories attached there. And there were new people as well today, which she wasn't looking forward today. After CWC, people are quick to judge her, to say she does everything for content and she didn't want to hear all of that in a place where she started her career.

Her only solace was that, Pugazh anna and other people would be there. She broke out of her trance to see a message from whom she would be singing with today, Arjun.

Think we could go for a rehearsal before shoot?

She replied affirmative, before jumping downstairs. Her mom bustling around the kitchen, her brother seated at the table with feet dangling on the arm rest. Her mother looked up at her in suprise.

"Enna inniku madam ivalo seekarama ezhunthachu?" She asked, with a teasing smile.

"Shoot iruku, pugazh anna call panni ezhupitanga." She said, holding a warm cup of coffee between her hands.

"Super Singer, la?" her mom asked. Sivaangi nodded, her mouth filled with steaming coffee. Her mother nodded skeptical at her level of excitement but decided not to probe it. Sivaangi had the habit of downplaying her excitement at times to not seem overeager.

With a small smile, Sivaangi got up from the table, sprinting upstairs, making a small prayer for everything to work out today.

It was already going bad.

When she arrived on set, she found out her saree draper would be late. Usually she would manage with someone else, but she was supposed to wear 9 yards today. Next up, she kept on jumbling up the lyrics. Finally, her pair decided to be an asshole today.

He wasn't being an outright asshole, of course. But she could see the skeptical looks he sent her and how he thought she should tell her how to stabilize her pitch. She won't pretend she knows everything about singing, but she definitely does know how to sing in pitch. Sighing, she sat down, rubbing her forehead.
