Chapter Thirteen

      As we head back I finally have the feeling where I can relax. I haven't been able to feel comfortable around anybody until now. Instead of Gon and Killua going straight to end up at Gon's house they took a left, I closely followed. They made sure I was behind them and slowed down so I could keep up with them because I didn't feel like running. We end up at a cliff with a small campfire. 'By the time we sit down and light the fire it'll be dark.' Gon looks out at the seaside horizon and jumps. Killua looks up towards me and says, "He always does this, just follow me." Killua grabs my hand and takes me to the end of the cliff. I look down and I can see gon swimming in the clear aqua water.

Killua takes a quick look at me and asks if I'm ready, I nod in confusion, trusting him. He steps back and I go along. He picks me up and runs towards the end of the ledge once again but jumps this time. I grip onto his arms tightly knowing I'm in safe hands. He yells to Gon in mid air letting him know we're on our way down. Falling in his arms makes me want time to stop for at least a few seconds so that I can really take in being with him. The warmth from the body makes me weak. 'Even though he's with me now he could leave me anytime, there hasn't been a confirmation that we're there for each other. When it comes down to it, will he really want to stay by my side. If I needed help would I actually be worth saving?' As thoughts were trickling in my head I started to feel dizzy and tired. Becoming conscious of the situation I realized that I wasn't swimming once I hit the water, it was too late I couldn't feel my body anymore. I tried to move my legs but nothing seemed to work, before I could get another breath of water I saw black.

I open my eyes to see the dark sky with twinkling stars and Killua sitting leaning slightly over me. I try to sit up but my body's too weak to move, Killua notices and grabs me into a tight embrace. It makes me feel needed and that I shouldn't doubt myself and the connections I have with the people I love. Gon rushes over and asks if I'm okay, I try to respond but nothing comes out of my mouth but a raspy tone of voice. Killua abruptly picks me up and starts toward Gon's house. As I sway in his arms the drowsiness takes over and I slip into a repose.

Waking up for the second time I can tell that I'm in Gon's room but not sure who's there or not. I try to move to make someone notice I'm awake, Killua sprints over. Im speechless, he looks so hypnotizing with his big blue eyes and natural sweet smell. He sits down close to the end of the bed to comfort me, I open my mouth and I manage to get a couple words out "Thank you Killua." After saying those words his eyes widened even more, the look that he gave me made him look weaker than me, "I thought I lost you. What happened?" Thinking over those words made me contemplate that he really does want me around, 'Is it okay to be vulnerable right now?' I look down and a tear drops from my cheek to the white shirt Killua put on me. He scoots up and holds me tight, he nuzzles his head up to my ear. He whispers, "I hope you know I never want to see you go. I'll do the most I can to have you by my side, always." I freeze but since he's not looking in my direction I'm free to look however I want to. I thought I would smile but my stunned face turned more into a dissociated gaze. I bury my head in his shoulder but instead of more tears from me I could hear silent weeps come from Killua. 'I have to remember Gon's the only one who's ever looked out for him, he needs to have someone care for him in a way no one else has before.'

'Killua isn't vulnerable to others much at all, he just has all this emotion built up.' Knowing this I want him to feel the opposite of insecure so I start to lean back to have us both lay on our backs. As soon as I did Killua got comfortable and fell asleep with his head right next to mine and his arms enclosing my waist.
